That pisses me off so much, and creating ADAP as a way to push ppl off AISH and into a program that supports less.

He should be governing for everyone. There are an awful lot of us who do not respect and support his decisions.
The fact she didn't sign the "Forever Canadian" petition is telling.
They also needed to prove that they could not find qualified employees otherwise, which for many of these jobs wasn't the case. The govt didn't do their job and employers took advantage of it.
Not necessarily. We could easily look around at places hiring & asked others in the field, same job to see what the typical rate of pay was and both were well under that. The govt was responsible for ensuring that was happening & it wasn't. Im I've looked into this program quite extensively.
Ha! Funny you say that. I'm also in Alberta, Edmonton.
And still can't find regular work as he's very specialized in his field but he's not been out of it for 4 yrs & no one is hiring. We had to go the spousal sponsorship route & it cost us thousands. It pissed me off there wasn't any support or help for him when this happened.
The 2nd is my partner that I'm currently with. He did thr job they hired him for so well that they didn't need him anymore & made his life hell until he quit. It took us 4 yrs to navigate the immigration system over covid & we had to do it all ourselves. In that time he was unable to work.
Clearly they don't. I've dated 2 ppl who moved here under the TFW program. Both were being paid less than the typical wage (one 22$/hrs when typical is 26$/hrs, the other about 30k$ less/yr). With the 1st, his employer promised to help him get a PR...never happened.
Thing is, under the TFW program, employers were not supposed to be paying below the typical rate for these jobs. They did it anyway and there was no oversight to prevent it.
We need to give the land back to Indigenous ppl and live under Indigenous governance. Thats what is needed.
Then do something about it.
I need you to understand that Trump isn't the issue. He's the figurehead.
Exactly what I was thinking.
To add: people have to register well before hand and in a lot getting ID isn't accessible to everyone. Further, voting places can sometimes be difficult to get to for many &/or ppl can't get the time off work..
The cigarette smoke will send me into an asthma attack, but I'm not out here saying ppl should go to jail for it.
100%
The world cup is still happening in the US. Countries are still trading with them, offering them their military support, etc. Its all in an attempt to placate which doesn't work.
I say this b/c there is a lot of misunderstanding about how things happened. Trump is exactly where Hitler was when he began to target marginalized groups, even down to threatening neighbouring countries. Yet, the world has learned nothing. 2/
The world leaders actually did placate Hitler while he invaded neighboring countries & targeted Jews, the disabled, LGBTQ2S+, & any dissenters. Nordic countries like Sweden continued trade. It wasn't until he threatened countries like France did the rest of the world get involved. 1/
Ok? Want to talk about direct US interference in Canada?
The UN isn't doing anything right now to help the people of Iran & did very little to help Gaza. The US is now head of the security council.
They need to do this again. Carney made it clear that he's going to follow along with the US regarding this illegal "war".
Neither the US or Isreal are Canadian allies anymore
Headed by a man who is far right leaning and allows Nazi imagery to be sold on the site. No thanks.
Yes!! Supporting a wanted war criminal guilty of genocide and suspected pedophile who's illegally bombed 7 countries so far is exactly who Canadians don't "support". Some of still know this. Why doesn't our PM? | Did Carney go too far in offer...

Its amazing our fed govt is doing nothing about this.
Who's saying religious ppl shouldn't be part of it? Religion shouldn't be part of it.
If you did, you wouldn't say that when he's gone the US will start to rebuild.
Whatever you say.
