I tried a few different things (thanks for the suggestions) but still couldn't get the bases quite how I wanted to, I don't want to redo them so I'll settle and try to ace the next batch 👌

I like the sound of airbrushing over it with white ink and then hitting that with a lavender? Fear of overdoing it should hopefully keep me in check.

Would I repaint the crackle black again after (at the center of the flakes) or do you think that would look too unnatural?

I could use a hand, any ideas as to what I can do to make these bases pop? I want more of the lilac/pink lava under the crackle to come through and glow

Should I peel some of the flakes? Paint them purple? Does it look fine and I'm overthinking it?

Silent Line is a bop! I replayed through from 3 to 4A to prep for 6 and SL and Nexus were definitely the highlight! Gl;hf

I think I can make a more convincing plasma effect so I'll return to that at a later point.

That's it for the lil pink psychos for now, swimming in so many stims they can't feel the ground beneath them (because I've yet to make it).

I haven't been very post-y lately, but I thought I'd try and shake that up by sharing that I'm starting an EC army.

I painted up a test model (and wasn't fully sold on the pink tone, so swapped for a brighter ink) and have begun painting up the rest.

Anyone on the fence should watch a couple of Vincey V's videos on airbrushes, thinner and primer and then pull the trigger. It's stress free and is even gonna save me money in the long run.

The airbrush is an amazing little bit of kit. I took my time with these chaps (I wanted to paint up Decimus to commemorate my time spent as a Reiver in SM2) and had a quick and easy gradient from bare plastic in like 20 minutes.

Lovely work on the Hatamoto-Chi, v nice freehand, and the camo on the shoulder really caught my eye

We do be painting another bugman. Part of me was thinking the big green crystals on every gun were a bit OTT. But now that I've done the flamer I'm lamenting its lack of glowy green bits!

Oh, and I've decided to stop fighting the cold weather and picked up an airbrush. I practiced on some Battlemechs (Catapult my beloved) and it packs away neatly under my printer.

Lil update, but I found some time to paint up the bulk of the Shadestrain, still enjoying painting up the wings somehow.
