German elections results today be like:
Germany shifted right, but not like super duper right, but still right, kinda weird right wing adjacentβ¦
Oh and the leftists made it in too!
I think that at this time Bernie Sanders has a great opportunity to help build the leftist wing in the Democrats (or just American politics themselves) by using his platform to uplift younger leaders
Sanders isnt running again, the only way to create effective change is by setting up for the future
βWe are never going to stop existing. Iβm never going to stop being trans. A letter on a passport canβt change that, fuck this administration.β
β Hunter Schafer on uniting with trans people against Trumpβs administration.
I canβt even explain the relief I felt after hearing the new Avatar is going to be a girlβ¦.
I love reading Science Fiction but many find the genre intimidating and/or donβt know where to start.
Well, in honor of celebrating Black Scifi stories here is

If I had a nickel for every time I have willingly allowed myself to be Queerbaited by a Sherlock Holmes x John Watson retelling I would have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot but its pathetic that its happened twice.

It upsets me how invested I am in the color and shape of Michael Sheens hair.
This is taking too much space in my mind. π

As someone that went to the Eras Tour last year and played "Florida" on repeat for months after it came out, I am happy that The Tortured Poets Department got 0 Grammys.
Imo it is her worst album, a case of overindulgence and girlie pop victimization that lacked the heart of her other work
will definitely do!
My February TBR is literally all science fiction written by Black womenβ¦ π
It is SO good
I was so stressed and then I just sobbed
I just finished watching Shrinking on AppleTv and damn it, this silly little show knows how to absolutely destroy me π
The real immigration problem in Germany is the Americans that have lived in the country for 5+ years and call themselves "expats" unironically
Bugs and Daffy standing by a tree, sign reads DUCK SEASON, then RABBIT SEASON then ELMER SEASON, and they both glare ominously off camera
classic Loony Tunes have much to teach us about class solidarity
Imo the genre has a real problem when it comes to gender dynamics that in any other work would be considered more critically. The reality is that these depictions have real life effects just like any other work of fiction.
I dont understand why we treat it with kids gloves.
Would love to talk about how in the name of being sex-positive/ inclusive we have made it impossible to engage with criticism of the genres very prominent patriarchal structures
Maybe start with how the stories are usually dependent on womens sexual submission, On men being dominant/possessive.
Is there a way to have a discussion about the real societal damage that mainly reading/promoting smut-dark romance has done or will I immediately be classified as a prude/woman hater?
Is it possible to point out that despite being a genre written mainly by & for women it is still problematic af?
