Bushfire detection just got a little bit easier with the help of AI cameras A pilot program at Gippsland’s Delburn windfarm has been using the technology since 2023.

'In DEC 2023, Australian-founded company Pano AI installed two of its fire detecting cameras at the site of the Delburn windfarm to survey the surrounding landscape.

The cameras can scan a 360 degree radius for smoke & other signs of fire'.

Overlapping disaster seasons change the nature of emergency resourcing With fires and floods occurring simultaneously, and overlapping with international deployments, sharing critical resources is becoming an increasingly complex task.

In bad fire seasons we rely on the northern hemisphere to support us. We do the same in return.

But climate change is messing with everything - incl making fire seasons longer.

This is the 1st season since 2019–20 where VIC has asked for international support.
