It was really nice to meet the brothers, Jack and David, of ex WO2 Pete Hennegan (Cheshire Regt) today.
The Hennegan family wanted their brothers medals and a few pictures of him displayed in the Museum.
It will be an honour to do so. Thank you for thinking of us, it is very much appreciated.
Since #WutheringHeights is all the rage right now, we thought we'd share what was happening outside the moors.

In some parts of Wales, daffodils are known as 'babies' bells.' People say that only infants and very young children can hear them ringing ๐

Did you know there are now more female than male doctors in the UK for the first time since records began?
Dr Amai Cooper was the first Indian doctor in the UK and was a GP on Ilford High Road from 1906-1916.

The front cover of the book 'Convict love tokens' edited by Michele Field and Timothy Millett. The cover is in brown tones with the title over an image of tokens laid haphazardly one on top of another.
The book 'Convict Love Tokens' from our #LocalStudies library describes the tokens British convicts often made before their transportation to Australia. An informative and touching book.

Happy #AppreciateADragonDay! Here we have a cigar lighter, complete with an antelope horn tail
A bronze muzzle loaded gun, mounted on a wooden carriage.
A closeup of a bronze leopard (actually a lioness) dolphin, or lifting lug, on a cannon from the Mary Rose. It looks a bit like a hippo, if the above description wasn't confusing enough.
This 2,463kg (5,430lb) cannon, found on the Mary Rose, was decorated with detailed sculptured leopards on the dolphins either side of this beast - a Tudor weapon of mass destruction, made to look beautiful.
