Every time someone repeats the totally incorrect myth that "CGI" is cheaper than practical effects—it's not and that's a ridiculous statement—'because "CGI" isn't unionized,' they're unwittingly giving ammunition to studios who are arguing that unionization would be bad for the industry (it's not).
He was made for both roles but he is Santa to me. That was my holiday movie as a kid waiting every December for it to show up on HBO. Plus Dudley & Lithgow Got to talk about it with IIya Salkind one night. Childhood geek out.
