Same, I have no big family wealth. But living in a (Western) country where education is free is definitely an advantage. But then imho imho the mindset should be *if someone from a lower class is able to get an education and share it, thats going to benfit me, too*

I think it’s because people often don’t have access to education so instead of thinking *This person wants to share knowledge* they think *This person is calling me dumb and is also privileged enough to study smth like that* and i can empathize with that, but I don’t know how to do it better either.

Most ppl don’t know what’s going on in the EU parliament but you need to know that iceland is VERY very progressive with lgbtq and womens rights and them having power on the EU level would be a blessing

I think it’s important to stay in the realm of separating emotions from factual reality because online spaces tend to be dangerously antiintellectual and are extremely subsceptible towards populism. And this is also mirrored in fandom, even if on a small scale

I have this big flaw that I point out my education when I want ppl online to take my point seriously and that is a big mistake lol
it comes off authoritative and arrogant & also inherently narcissistic and overconfident.
