The reason we have “stupid rules of engagement” is to make sure we don’t bomb elementary schools.
If it’s true that the United States bombed an elementary school and killed scores of children it is an unfathomable crime. I have never been more disgusted to be an American.
I completely agree. But in terms of our social needs as a society, I do think there’s a time when anyone who has been a leader should step back and become an advisor. I am doing the same thing in my own academic work- I think transitions to new and typically younger leaders are important!
The issue is that in the US the voters are easily swayed by an image of a mythical American past. These men from that era fit a fantasy. And I don’t understand why they won’t retire. I believe they’re out of touch. It’s the same in business and academia as well. Much older men are often in charge.

There should be blanket media coverage & bipartisan demands for Trump's resignation.
As the parent of a teen - and a professional teacher myself - I want to point out that inadequate explanations by teachers account for a LOT of chatbot use by teens. Especially in math and science.
Let’s do better, teachers! Then the kids who are paying attention won’t need to ask chatGPT.
