Stopping on Eton Bridge to enjoy the puddles.
Deep in the depths of the Pirate Park in W Windsor
This fella’s got quite a collection of bikes, look at this beauty!
What a turnout for today’s damp Level 1 easy ride! Clearly everyone has cabin fever & needed to get outside. It was an urban route across to Eton & back via W Windsor. Three people came in one bike, can you work out which one?

This week we helped 6th #Windsor #Brownies earn their mechanics badges. It’s great showing youngsters how to take care of their bikes (it’s good to show grown-ups too). Got a children’s group in Windsor that want to know more about bikes? Drop us a line at info@windsorcyclehub.org

Riders from groups 1 & 2 unite along the Jubilee River track.
Riders from groups 2 & 3 meet in Slough’s Herschel Park. They can never hear enough local history!
One of our riders enjoys a welcome break on the Myrke Bridge ‘twixt Slough & Eton. It’s amazing to see how well the trees etc. have grown here.
A record 30 riders for today’s Level 1 from @theswanclewer.bsky.social to sunny #Slough & #Eton. Thanks for today’s volunteers who made it possible.
We like to see you on our rides, but please book at least 1 day 📆 in advance to help us plan volunteer numbers, so we can all enjoy ourselves 😀🚲.

The sign saying it’s closed & showing alternative route
Summerleaze bridge on NCN4 (the rickety wooden one from Monkey Island Lane over to Eton Dorney Rowing Lake) is closed for repairs.
TBF, it’s in a state with lots of gaps & rotten boards - so in need of urgent repair.
Off to cross the Thames on the M4 bridge instead.

Just about to leave B’nell (head office town of a well known supermarket) - outside of Waitrose
More records broken this week, with our biggest ever Level 4 ride. After the pre-ride brief, we headed off along a selection of nice traffic-free lanes to Bracknell. We stopped at Waitrose for coffee & a comfort break. Then on via Chavey Down, N.Ascot & WGP back to @theswanclewer.bsky.social.

The all important pre-ride briefing innThe Swan’s courtyard. You can see why we need to get the ride out before we open Bike Kitchen just after 11am.
Negotiating an A frame barrier. It’s easy if you’re able bodied & ride a bike with narrow handlebars. Imagine trying it if you had mobility needs & had no one to help you.
Action shot of a ride leader & a rider, from the gravel path beside the Jubilee River.
All 3 groups assemble in Hershel Park, Slough, for fun facts on astronomy, famous park residents & the impact of Michael Fish’s hurricane.
Another massive Level 1 easy guided ride from @theswanclewer.bsky.social today. We negotiated the barriers to get onto, & along, the Jubilee River path. We rendezvoused in Herschel Park, Slough, for our last impromptu talk about the Herschels ☄️ 🔭. Back next week for a longer Level 2 ride.
