Please, let’s trade climates for a week! It’s already 90 here and I’m too hot to finish knitting my sweater vest!

Once liberals realize that their elected representatives are supposed to help them, they’re going to become enraged
@mhdksafa for the record: cops aren't supposed to kill guilty people either (from 2023)
In a likely deadly move, the Israeli government told 37 foreign aid groups, including Doctors Without Borders, they could no longer operate in Palestine. Where is the outrage?

A reminder that the US killed 80 people in Venezuela, and it would be nice if the US media cared enough to think that the life of a grandmother in Caracas whose building is destroyed by a US bomb matters as much as the life of a person in the US.
Remember when Tony Dokoupil told Ta-Nehisi Coates on the Morning News that his book that humanized and empathized with Palestinians belonged in a terrorist’s backpack? I do.
My First Amendment professor told us on the first day of class that pornographers and Jehovah’s Witnesses were the real heroes of the First Amendment.
People are going to try and lure you into debates about whether Maduro was a good guy or not and the thing is, it doesn’t matter for the purposes of discussing whether violent kidnappings and extrajudicial murders by the US government are ok. No, they aren’t! End of convo.
We are a rogue state, run by a dictator, and the international community should treat us as such including all appropriate economic and diplomatic sanctions
I know in Spanish cultures your children usually inherit the first surname of each parent. I guess I’m wondering what you do if you hyphenate primarily for “fight the patriarchy” reasons??
How do second generation hyphenated names work? Like if you were born into a family with a hyphenated surname, and then you got married and had children, and wanted to continue the tradition of hyphenating, which name(s) do you drop?
Thank you!
A navy blue sweatshirt with the outline of a humpback whale embroidered at the collar, a sperm whale on one arm, and a narwhal and beluga whale on the other arm. All the embroidery is very light blue.
The detail of humpback whale embroidered on a navy blue sweatshirt. The embroidery thread is very light blue.
An orca embroidered on the back left of a navy blue sweater. The embroidery details are done in very light blue.
I recently went on a trip where I decided embroidering whales on a sweatshirt was the perfect thing to do on the plane. #embroidery
I’ve looked into it a bit and it’s about $600 to get started. So maybe needle-felting in the meantime.
Stained glass!
It was Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland. Certainly not my usual whimsical historical romance 😅
Just finished one of those books where you try and get anyone and everyone in your life to also read it, so you have someone to talk to about it.
The next X years are going to be so tedious and dumb and painful.
On the plus side, I’m not even a little bit addicted to Bluesky the way I was to Twitter *because* my feed is a ghost town. 😂 I will definitely check out the Craftiverse feed!
What crafty little hobbies are we all getting into to distract ourselves from the existential dread?
I’m actually surprised by how many people are pathetic cowardly worms.
the kimmel thing is bad but as long as they arent rounding people up indiscriminately based on race, building concentration camps and talking about eradicating those they deem sexual deviants, i think we’ll be ok
A white and brown spotted cow jumping over a purple moon. There is also a small yellow star. The whole thing is made out of beads.
The back of a bead embroidery brooch. There’s a pin and a gray felt backing.
My first bead embroidery project is done! It was a lot of trial and error, picking out beads and trying again. The cow looks nothing like I initially wanted it to and the star was a last minute decision. But I still like it!
i’m not going to be lectured about political violence by people whose politics is violence
He was just, like, a guy. Not a politician. Not a statesman of any kind. Just some really mean guy. Flags at half mast. Yankee moment of silence. Whatever the shit this is.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
If liberals took all the rage they have for nonvoters & started actually fighting fascism with it, we'd really be somewhere. But they can find nothing better but to blame the people for a rigged system where we had one choice against someone who should've been disqualified & she was doing genocide.
I need this too! I understand people who find it too depressing or want to maintain their happy, peaceful spaces, but suddenly that’s everyone so I don’t have any outlet and I’m just suppressing it!!
Shout out to whatever aides absolutely despise them and keep setting up the interviews!
May Pro-Israel Democrats never stop walking into independent media interviews expecting a softball where they can spew their shallow talking points, and instead being confronted over their ghoulish support of genocide. 🙏🏻 May it never stop going viral and embarrassing them. 🙏🏻
