@clydecommods.bsky.social just wondering how are diesel/gasoil exports from China at the moment. Heard they are low and one of the reason that Asia/Middle East distillate markets have tightened.

They are running as light a blend as they can without reducing throughput to further lighten it
Is Tesla going the same way as Nokia and BlackBerry? Falling behind in tech, old designs and an owner that is killing the brand
Yes. U.S. imports 7mbpd and exports 4mbpd
The U.S. is neither energy independent nor dominant
It imports 7mbpd of oil and only exports 4mbpd. Many US refineries only run because of imports.
RBOB/HO futures are dependent on Brent and not WTI. So US dependent on international markets
Trump’s policy for oil makes no sense. He maybe able to reduce costs by 5 to 10%. So only $3.50 to $7.
Producers trying to capture that with more production could see price fall more than that
His policies are all over the place. Sanctions on Iran,Russia, Vza, tariffs and filling the spr are all prices up
Energy Emergency using Defence Production act maybe prices down
The owner of the other place has gone completely mad.
You don’t get the annoying numpties on here which is great
Merry Christmas to all you guys on Blue Sky. May it remain civilised in 2025.
My opinion is that if Trump does not put tariffs on Canadian Oil he is effectively admitting the true weakness in the U.S. system which is its lack of Energy Independence. No matter how much it shouts about it, this would be confirmation of that weakness
Good evening Blue Sky. This place seems a lot more pleasant than X
