First post from this teacher and failed local political candidate. I am radicalized now. Thinking all of my students deserve a shot is now radical. Trying to teach everyone, and I mean everyone is radical now. I am even reading them a book with themes about community, generosity, kindness. Radical

In my mind as a primary teacher, I view learning to read as the foundational skill that allows all others. I’m not proud of it, but I say these exact words to my students regularly, “if you don’t learn to read, you will always be treated like a child.”

Dammit, I have a vintage coat just like that, it’s my favorite winter gear and now I’ll be mocked for wearing it… these a-holes ruin everything.
