Oh, I grew up in PA and I remember Boscov’s. I remember that their store in the mall always seemed too full for the space that they had. It was difficult to walk around and the air was stifling. I could not spend any length of time in there.
Oh, that SUCKS. Why in the hell did they close them? The chain isn’t in any trouble! Especially not when they have exclusive Disney rights. 🙄
Maybe that’s part of the problem. A little less Disney, and a little more can I just have something to wear?
I’m not talking anything crazy. I don’t want a costume. Corporate As Usual can be fine. Obviously the client and the meeting are the important thing. But it would be nice to have something more flattering and more fun. More comfortable.
The thing I hate shopping for the most? Blazers. I’ve even considered finding a local seamstress because I hate it so much.
I don’t wear them often, but when I do, they need to reflect my style and my place in the group I’m meeting with.
Business Artsy rarely comes in Plus Size.
I can’t just go to a store when I want to. My nearest Torrid, Lane Bryant, and Macy’s are all 45 minutes away and I can’t drive. I have to plan my shopping trips with someone else’s schedule in mind. And that makes me feel small inside, like an inconvenience, and like I have to prove my worth.
This is brilliant. I really struggle now that so much clothes shopping happens online, especially since I’m plus sized and live rurally.
Being able to touch something, understand the fabric and cut… The more sighted and slim who decide what’s in the store and where stores are have forgotten us.
I teared up reading this! I never imagined something like this was possible during a Fashion Week and would SO LOVE to attend a touch tour! I’m low-vision impaired and shopping for clothes has gotten so much worse for me now that so much is online AND I now live rurally.
