I'm especially keen to hear from anyone who can't draw on existing institutional knowledge of the scheme (existing FLFs or panel members) - what will help lift the lid on the interviews?

Scientists stunned by unexpected discovery while studying sea otter behavior: 'Feels like renewed hope'
Scientists have made an interesting discovery connecting sea otters to forest recovery, reinforcing their role as a keystone species.
By eating sea urchins, otters are crucial to the health of kelp forest ecosystems, on which a wealth of ocean life depends.
THE most important thing to understand about nature is that it only functions healthily as a *system*, with all parts present.

Statue of girl killed by air pollution should be reminder of dangers of toxic air
Ella Adoo-Kissi-Debrah became the first person in the world to officially die from air pollution. A statue of her will stand in a London park.
A powerful moment, charged with sadness for a life that could have been but also hope for the future and the huge fortitude of Ella’s mother and family.
Honoured to be in south east London this afternoon for the unveiling of Ella's statue.

Aerial view of a vibrant wetland landscape featuring lush green patches surrounded by winding blue water channels. Large white text overlays the image, reading: “Wetlands are hotspots of biological diversity.” In the top right corner, the UN Environment Programme logo is visible.
Wetlands, rich in biodiversity, provide essential ecosystem services vital for the survival of numerous species.
Safeguarding these ecosystems is critical to meeting the goals and targets of the Global Biodiversity Framework.

River Kennet
Settlement tank at sewage works
AMR is partly driven by microorganisms from our waste & household chemicals (like drugs, cleaning products & antifungal shampoos) entering watercourses—along with agricultural & urban runoff.
🚽 To learn more, Alice & Sue visited the River Kennet & Thames Water’s Reading Sewage Treatment Works.

Massive heap of mixed clothing stacked high under a cloudy sky. Text reads: “A garbage truck load of clothes is dumped or burned every second.” “Beat Waste Pollution” logo appears in the bottom right.
That’s the equivalent of 92M tonnes of textile waste pile up yearly. This wasteful system is harming people and the planet.
It's time to rethink fashion & #BeatWastePollution.

Middle aged woman in front of a slide saying 'communicating air pollution '
At Roy Acad Engineering discussing how we can better communicate air quality. Notable is the lack of action on air pollution compared to flurry of policy, research & activism on plastics. Is it because plastic is a more visible and visual pollutant? @yesiuoy.bsky.social @uoyenvironment.bsky.social
