increasingly believing much of the communication gap between LLM Enthusiasts and LLM Skeptics on this website boils down to “are you someone who has largely experienced a *reasonable* amount of job security in tech, or are you someone who has not experienced job security and likely aren’t in tech”

A handful of Republicans in Congress & Supreme Court can end this nightmare any time they choose, and history will remember them as saviors of the republic, no matter what terrible things they did to US in last 10 years: insane we cannot find a few volunteers for this plum deal!

Wait so is there actually a decrease in water or is this because they gave all of their water to corporations & canceled a desal plant?

I would actually love to be able to throw CalTopo gps tracks on my goggles to ensure I’m following my pre-planned route on backcountry ski excursions to help avoid avalanche terrain, but pulling out my phone every so often is not that big of an inconvenience.

The reason that I’m not a racist anymore is because a guy named Humza was unbelievably kind and patient with me, far more than I ever deserved and began a friendship with a kindness that I can never repay.
A new politician to root for is not it. We need community, that is our strength. 2/2

He’s got it backwards. There are progressive men who starting out hardcore conservative, and for most of us it’s exposure to new ideas, meeting nonwhite people and realizing they are just people, and learning about the world. 1/2

i don't care about any arguments against this. right now the sum total of my political advocacy is: crush the Republicans and make them pay. i don't care what comes after because until we do that nothing better is possible.

Lotta people have opinions, few people have actually tried to do this work. Antagonism/talking down fails.
It’s incredible to me how many people understand the concept of working with humility across cultures but are unable to process that you have to do that in rural/conservative/crunchy spaces!

My spouse is a pediatrician, the two of us are having a time sifting through this to decide what activities are worth it because we want our kid to leave the.
I find my self pissed all the time. I don’t blame confused parents, but ready to go to war with antivax spreaders.

Definitely talk to your pediatrician about it & know that at least in the state I’m in, insurance has been weird about covering third dose. But I really don’t want to live in fear of measles so we are

That are why I have never even taken my kid to the grocery store. We have a relative who’s terminally sick who our kid has only met virtually, want them to meet in person, but it feels unsafe to put our kid on a plane before his bonus MMR at 6 months**

In PH sphere, we have to humble ourselves and work with the misled.
In my personal life though? Outside of work? I think influencers who peddle antivax garbage should be arrested at a minimum. I’m incandescent w/rage b/c there are outbreaks by us 1/4

Had to have these conversations with hesitant patients daily and people’s minds changed because offline people are nowhere near as polarized.
There’s tons of literature backing this up, AAP, APHA, Jpeds all have guidance documents and links to papers if you want to read more 2/2

I think experienced wildly diverge online and in person. Online it is extremely combative, with many hardened, mind-settled antivax people.
In person, I have had countless good faith conversations with questioning people who ended up vaccinating. I worked with frontline PH nurses/CH workers who /1

Abstract
Traditional vaccines target specific pathogens, limiting their scope against diverse respiratory threats.
We describe an intranasal liposomal formulation combining toll-like receptor (TLR) 4 and 7/8 ligands with a model antigen, ovalbumin, that provided broad, durable protection in mice for at least 3 months against infection with SARS-CoV-2 and Staphylococcus aureus.
In addition, the vaccine protected mice from other viruses (SARS-CoV-2, SARS, SCH014 coronavirus), bacteria (Acinetobacter baumanni), and allergens.
Protection was mediated by persistent ovalbumin-specific CD4+ and CD&+ memory T cells that imprinted alveolar macrophages (AMs), enhancing antigen presentation and antiviral immunity. Following infection, vaccinated mice mounted rapid pathogen-specific T cell and antibody responses and formed ectopic lymphoid structures in the lung.
These results reveal a class of "universal vaccines" against diverse respiratory threats.
The study has been published in Science. YES, it is PEER-REVIEWED.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers at Stanford University have developed a UNIVERSAL vaccine known as GLA-3M-052-LS+OVA, that protects against a wide range of respiratory viruses, bacteria AND even allergens. The vaccine is delivered intranasally AND provides broad protection in the lungs for several MONTHS.
