Study Visit #2 will consist of a bronchoscopy with endobronchial OCT imaging, bronchoalveolar lavage and endobronchial brushings.
- After 6 mos the subjects return for a rescreening visit and repeat bronchoscopy with OCT imaging, bronchoalveolar lavage and endobronchial brushings
6/
What to expect:
- A pre-screening eligibility questionnaire screening via visit or phone call.
- After informed consent is obtained, subjects will have safety labs drawn, undergo pulmonary function testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, and high resolution CT. Additionally, will perform an EKG
Inclusion criteria:
- Patient meets criteria for the diagnosis of PASC based on persistent symptoms of dyspnea, cough, and/or exercise intolerance and had a positive Sars-CoV-2 PCR test.
- FEV1/FVC β₯ 0.7
- DLCO > 30% predicted

Specifically, they aim to determine whether the microscopic images provided by OCT can detect subtle disease features not detectable by Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) and High-Resolution Computed Tomography (HRCT).
2/
Mass General Hospital in Boston MA has a cool new new translational study about to start recruiting. The study is to determine if endobronchial optical coherence tomography (OCT) can serve as a low-risk, minimally-invasive method for the assessment of pulmonary disease in patients with Long COVID
