If I’m completely honest, I can zone out of either listening or reading when my brain is racing

I’ll keep an eye out this one

So as something more focussed than general radio listening (while I cook, organise etc) I love it. But I have a tiny bit of preference for the page if I am trying to wind down in the evening

I haven’t read it, but that’s a strong comment to make. Doesn’t that mean you also found it hard to identify with any protagonist? Or is that the point of the book?

Loved The Pearl, when we read it at school. But I’d already fallen for the Grapes of Wrath… and the bar was high!

I have gone back to Bonjour Tristesse. It has so much more detail than I remember. Hard to put down

Covers, blurbs, even recommendations promise certainty, but the books that stay tend to arrive more quietly.
