This man should not ever have “all the levers.”
This man should not ever have “all the levers.”
A message from our CEO Emma Harrison to mark yesterday's anniversary of the general election:
"Things are changing. 60% of us want to move away from the winner-takes-all First Past the Post system."
Together, we can win real democracy in which voice is heard. #PRnow
If he can manufacture enough instability or have the country on a full war footing by the mid-terms, he may use it as an excuse to cancel/postpone them.
The Trump Effect strikes again!

Image from the Financial Times, placing Keir Starmer next to Enoch Powell.
Starmer's language was deplorable.
It was grotesquely offensive, accusing people who have brought their gifts to this country of doing "incalculable" "damage"; & politically foolish, in endorsing Farage's claims of an establishment conspiracy.
But bad analogies with Powell miss the key problem. 🧵

This is a lawless administration with a lawless Insurrectionist at the top. The Constitution has a remedy for this attack on our republic: the Impeachment Clause. Members of Congress must invoke it. www.impeachtrumpagain.org @fsfp.bsky.social
He's right.
Musk's DOGE has killed 1000s of children so far, and it will be at least 10000s by the end of Trump's term.
They certainly should practice. But that isn't what was happening in this case, and even if it were, they would still have to coordinate with ATC.
Trump, "I'm in favour of crypto"
Journalist, "What do you say to those who say you're profiting from the Presidency?"
President Trump, "I'm not profiting from anything"
"I started this long before the election"
Grok: "$TRUMP launched on Jan 17, 2025, days before his inauguration on Jan 20, 2025"
He stood there on Jan 20 and falsely mouthed the words to protect and defend our Constitution.
Asked now on Meet the Press if he thinks he needs to uphold the Constitution, he says, “I don’t know.”
Translation: No.
Woe to America and the utter failure of putting this man back in our Oval Office.
I had a productive call with Ursula von der Leyen this morning. We’re ready to build on our free trade relationship, bolster economic security, and work side-by-side on shared defence and security challenges.
When Canada and the European Union build together, our futures are stronger.
Star Wars Intro Scroll Episode IV It Was All So Stupid Seriously, you would not believe how stupid it was. Every day, unrelentingly, just the dumbest stuff by the absolute worst people. And what made it worse was knowing that we’d brought this on ourselves.

What about the rule of law and the constitution?
Democracy only works within a defined framework (in this case, the US constitution). Trump is trying to break that framework.
If they practice, they still need to coordinate with ATC.
Could this be why, historically, the government has invested in managing air safety?
This sums the whole situation up quite nicely.
Good point. Although I do still struggle to see what people see in Reform.
There was a massive swing from Labour to Reform in West of England Mayoral election. Although labour just about hung on.
Worrying.
Having told myself recently that the UK population could not be taken in, in the way many Americans were; now I'm not so sure that they are any smarter!
Walz: I do want to give a huge shout out to our Canadian neighbors, they know that this is wrong. They stood up to it

I wouldn't trust Trump to renegotiate my broadband contract.
He's a bunch of idiots.
