I just ran my first CNA (Coincidence analysis)! So fun to explore the data this way! Thanks @cna-method.bsky.social and @edmiech.bsky.social and the rest of the CNA crew for a great workshop in Copenhagen.

Congratulations!! So glad to hear that you are already independently conducting CNA analyses on your own data!!!
Just attended CNA(coincidence analysis) workshop in Copenhagen. Met a lot of smart and interesting people, learned a lot and I can’t wait to digg into the method. @cna-method.bsky.social

Looking forward to meeting researchers from around the world at the upcoming 4-day CNA workshop in Copenhagen on 19 May 2025, immediately followed by the 2-day CNA conference on 23 May. This is the only training of its kind in the world and led by Michael Baumgartner.

As of today, @plos.org (and all of its journals) will no longer be posting to The Bad Place™️ #academicsky
You do not need to be an academic to visit an archive.
You do not need a degree to visit an archive.
There is no terrifying Don at the door grilling potential visitors.
If it's your first time, a nice archivist will help you.
It's our shared history, our preserved records. Go explore it.
Way to go, Jessica Dodge, offering a coincidence analysis that identifies "difference-making" implementation strategies! a novel contribution to #impscii @ #DIScience24 and has been shared with our "All Things Configured" scholarly community @edmiech.bsky.social
Bluesky post count mentioning research is at 500,997.
Mentions of research on Bluesky have crossed a half million posts as of this morning.

You can also just Google coincidence analysis and top two search results will be the overview methodology article published in Implementation Science and the CNA website maintained by the University of Bergen which lists all 100+ CNA-related papers in peer-reviewed literature, R software, news, etc.
Calling all implementation scientists: if you would like a method to identify what makes a difference, for whom, and under what conditions (including the ability to model the influence of local context), check out Coincidence Analysis. The D& I conference next week features multiple CNA studies.
Repost if BlueSky is now your primary social media site.
One unexpected thing in my qualitative study w natural scientists (one-hour interviews) is how deeply, deeply sad the climate scientists are. They say things like "you have enough information from us, why won't anyone act?" -- the psychological distress these people are enduring is very great.

I like the Donald Sutherland postage stamp. A fine Canadian.

Washing machine: Hey, your laundry's done.
Me: May I have it?
Washing machine: No, hang on, I need 30 seconds to say goodbye.
A perfect light golden ring (the Sun nearly completely eclipsed by the Moon) on a black background.
Why yes we did capture the annular eclipse. Photographed from Rio Rancho, New Mexico, by my husband Jeff Kanipe with a 600mm lens and solar filter.
My assistant Beike volunteered to recreate a medieval scene, for science.
Only took a second and she received massive funding (aka treats) for her participation in this research project.

I still have no idea what I'm doing with this platform but, while I'm figuring it out, here's some book cake 😊

Hooray - thank you!!!
Hoping to bring together folks interested in Implementation Science to share and collaborate. I *think* I managed to create an #ImpSci feed. Tagging a few folk I recognize

In this short podcast (5 minutes long), Dr. Deborah Cragun — the author of a just-published article in the journal Genetics In Medicine — does an excellent job describing how coincidence analysis contributed unique value to a qualitative, interview-based study. www.gimjournal.org/audio-do/sep...
Arranged on a wooden board, a mixture of almonds, concord grapes, peach slices, peeled chunks of clementine, and two piles of sliced cheeses (smoked applewood cheddar and Beamster goat). In the corner is a joke clock where instead of numbers are the words “write, write, revise, write, tea, edit, panic, write, write, booze, write, edit”. Next to that is a small colourful vase with a paper carnation in it.

You can just enter Coincidence Analysis into Google and the top search results are the main overview article in Implementation Science (open access) along with the CNA website maintained by the Univ of Bergen (Norway) that lists all CNA-related publications to date (over 70).
If you’re interested in questions related to “what makes a difference, for whom and under what conditions” you might consider Coincidence Analysis as a method. CNA is a case-based method specifically designed to analyze context and complexity through identifying “bundles” of difference-makers.

Political Science, Psychology, Neurology and Geology (among other fields) have grown dynamic communities over here in Skyland. Let’s help bring over more implementation scientists and health services researchers — HMU if you know someone who needs an invite code, I have one. ✔️
