On my way to Leeds this morning to celebrate the 5th birthday of my wonderful publishers, Northodox.
Spent some time in my local cafe today just writing and drinking coffee. An alternative venue for my creativity to thrive. Got a few hundred words done of the opening of my next novel. Celebrated by going horse riding in the late afternoon sun.
My launch for The Mithraeum Connection went well tonight. Thanks to Ted and Amy for coming down from Manchester for it.
One day to go to launch ...'The Mithraeum Connection' comes out tomorrow 15th May.
The Mithraeum Connection launches 15th May at Olives, 40 Elm Hill, Norwich at 6pm.
There's another vignette up on substack featuring Aurelius Petrus
The Mithraeum Connection is due to be released on 15th May. It's now available for pre-order. I'm in the process of organising a launch on Norwich. More details to follow
Just published a continuation of Petrus' vignette on substack. See @stephanieamey on substack. Thoughts or comments much appreciated.
Writing the next vignette featuring Aurelius Petrus in my head... now need to get it down on paper.
I've done it... written a standalone piece featuring Aurelius Petrus (the protagonist from my novel 'The Edge of Empire') and posted it on substack... @stephanieamey
About to upload a posting onto substack... slightly nervous about it...
Couldn't sleep last night for thinking about my characters... not sure if that's good or bad. Tried texting myself the ideas so that I could go to sleep, but it didn't work. Now to find the time in my day to get down to writing.
Settled down to some writing today. Trying it with Radio 2 in the background. Not convinced it works. Immersing myself in the life of a Roman fort on Hadrian's wall as my characters struggle to deal with the aftermath of a horrific event

Having a day off from writing today as going to Cambridge for a catch-up with an ol friend
Spent a couple of hours in a cafe today... just writing and buying the occasional coffee so that they didn't think I was just hiding in there from the cold! Was good to be in a different space to do my writing.
