My 3rd child is in 7th grade. That means that this is the 4th time I have struggled through 7th grade algebra. You would think it would get easier, yet here I am trying to remember how to calculate tue circumference of a circle!

I’m curious how fans pick their personal fandom hill-to-die-on. Like, how did you decide that closing practice to the media is so egregious? Or because one time a fan from your rival school cut you off on the freeway all of their fans are bad people? Fandom is nuanced & weird!
Parenting teens means comforting them when they don’t get invited to the birthday party because they “don’t have any friends,”and then helping them make their favorite dish for the “huge Friendsgiving” that they were invited to… all in the span of 72 hours.
Been rereading this lately, and was reminded of this simple and profound concept in the middle of what can be a less-than-approachable text.
Craig Ver Steeg isn’t walking through that door, Ute fans!

Tomorrow is the CMA awards. This has always been a huge event for me - I have filled out my CMA predictions since sometime in elementary school. But I mostly keep them to myself. New social media platform = new found confidence… so here you go. My list of how I would vote, if I had a vote.

67 during the day. 65 at night. But I desperately need new windows… until then we have to keep it a bit high.
Obviously!
I am impressed by those of you who can turn a simple post or reply into a full-blown real life relationship. I have never had a problem creating friendships, but I have yet to master the transition from lurker to commentator to friend. Bravo to the those making powerful human connections online!
Speed option to short side is always tough. But running it with a clear blitz is even tougher. Rough way to end things for the cougars.
I have kids who had never watched a boxing match before tonight, who have been so excited for this. It’s hard to explain to them what it was like watching Iron Mike in the 90s! We are not a boxing family, but I will take any event that my teenagers will watch and talk about with me.
Tom is TVMA for sure.
Also, Mike Birbiglia is tremendous - his specials are some of the best things to stream.
Nate Bargatze and Tom Segura are the two funniest I have seen live, and it’s not even close. Jim Gaffigan was good live, but not quite the same as those other two.
Even more concerning was the number of participants who offer course learning as the primary channel for employee development.
If you are relying on formal training, you are not adequately investing in employee development.

Employees with professional development opportunities are 15% more engaged and have 34% higher retention.
An MIT study found that companies that helped employees complete a one-year upskilling course saw a 250% ROI within eight months.

I facilitated a breakout discussion with HR and talent mgmt pros today around employee development and upskilling.
NGL, I was a bit discouraged by the % of participants who view upskilling as optional.

I get it. No worries. I doubt we have mutuals… there’s a bit of a chicken and egg thing between discussion and number of followers. I always felt like I was a little bit late to the game on the other platform, so I kept quiet. Maybe I will feel different here.
@lukasneville.bsky.social any chance you have room for one more on your Org Folks starter pack?
This is what I came here for! Any chance you have room for one more?
This is great… any chance I can get included?
Oh, this is fun! I never do these sorts of things…
Just because I read your takes on message boards 20 years ago, and then silently followed your tweets for years without once interacting with you doesn’t mean that I won’t do the exact same thing over here… some of us extroverts in real life are silent followers on social media… I guess?
