I was out doing things today when I checked bsky out of habit and saw this had posted, and for a brief moment the rot seized my brain and said, "you have to go home and read it right now". I didn't, but I'm finally home now... 😁

Except it seems to get temporary amnesia for a split second when I sneeze too hard 🤣

It's not that jobs require 10 hours at a desk, it's your "sedentary lifestyle". Ruined eyes? It's not the workflow, it's your "screen time". Feel empty? It's not the grind, it's just "adulthood". The job causes the problem, but you take the blame. The 9-to-5 is treated as some unchangeable default of nature we all must bow to.

Getting myself to do chores is like negotiating with a child, except going to bed is the ultimate prize.

I can take a nap now, but I HAVE TO get up and wash dishes and cook chili before I can eat the chili and go to bed for the night. I'm setting an alarm for the nap: I get ONE sleep cycle.
