The lil mole under Seo inguks left eye #BoyfriendOnDemand #Kdrama #KdramaChat
That's such a brilliant description 🤣🤣
I tried watching ep 1 and OMG she can't even stand in character, it's unbearable 😩 It's sad that SIG hasn't had a leading lady I like since Park Bo Young in Doom At Your Service.
My hesitation is based on seeing her in Snowdrop where her performance was not great so I'm not on a bandwagon but reacting to what I've seen of her so far. But I'd love it if she's improved if for no other reason than it would be great to see SIG in a romance where he has chemistry with his costar.
Has anyone started Boyfriend on Demand? Is it a yea or nay? I love Seo In Guk but Jisoo gives me pause and I feel like lately a lot of #kdrama romcoms are just not very good 😩
Oh wait one more thing: Ming, you better run girl because Shen is totally giving off domestic abuser vibes. Get out before he hits you. #AboutLove
In conclusion: TOXIC TOXIC TOXIC OMG SO TOXIC. But admittedly entertaining. #AboutLove
But I think if he actually got together with LL he'd be passive aggressive with her for other reasons. He seems incapable of taking responsibility. I've seen this dynamic play out IRL and it's so uncomfortable to watch. #AboutLove
Meanwhile Yu taking Xiu to the play humiliate Luan Luan was a terrible thing to do but understandable because of how hurt she is. Xiu has no one to blame but himself for what's happening. If he's truly in love with LL he needs to get a divorce. #AboutLove
But I think Bei is aspirational for her, like being with him will somehow make her a better person. But we've seen that Bei isn't a particularly a good influence on his shady friends. He just watches what they do as if he's watching a TV show he's not all that interested in. #AboutLove
So now Xiaoxi has moved in with Bei while still hiding the huge secret that she's testing the therapist and somehow expects to keep it. He'll eventually notice the multiple phones, right? And she keeps skating right up to the line with Gong, who honestly is a better fit for her. #AboutLove
he's deliberately looking away from it. His crimes are crimes of omission. He won't do anything that's directly immoral but he doesn't do anything to stop other people either (something he admitted when talking about Yu and Xiu) #AboutLove
Meanwhile Bei won't tell Xiaoxi what the deal is with Zhen. I see people describing him as a green flag but he really isn't. He's passive and allows himself to be drawn into questionable situations through inertia. He can see that Xiaoxi's behavior is shady but... #AboutLove
But then Xiaoxi manipulates An Miu into giving her WeChat to Gong even though she knows Gong is a horndog. She doesn't care that she's potentially putting another woman into a situation where she'll be cheated on. #AboutLove
Thoughts on #AboutLove eps 12 & 13: Xiaoxi seems to regard herself as like the Furies from Greek mythology, goddesses of vengeance and retribution who punish men for crimes against the natural order. That's how she justifies her testing even after she knows what Bei thinks about it. #cdrama
Yes but not liking characters isn't a hard reason for me to stop watching or even to dislike the drama. I'm pretty invested at this point even if I think the behavior of the leads is often illogical and makes them feel not quite like real people. It's a beautifully filmed train wreck.
But I think the directing is very good and so is the music, I kind of hate everyone in the story but I'm not bored 😅 And it's interesting to see a cdrama with this kind of toxic storyline, it feels more like something you would see in a Thai drama.
She hates cheating but has a flirty relationship with Gong who she knows is in love with her. As for Bei, if he's such a good guy why is he best friends with this toxic group of people? I don't think he's good, I think he's passive and an enabler.
I'm a lot more invested in the story from ep 12 on but I still have a lot of problems with inconsistent characterizations, esp the two leads. The FL frames herself as on the side of women but acts as a wing-woman for Gong when she knows he's a dog who'd steal his bestie's gf if he had a chance
Argh! I can't remember who was in the discussion about MLs with deep voices in #cdrama series a while back (apologies!) ... but may I submit Zhou Yi Ran as a candidate youtu.be/8leKl7tBM2k

[And lol to him judging his own character as a green tea 😹☠️]
Have you tried asking on the jdorama subreddit? I've seen people find incredibly obscure dramas. www.reddit.com/r/JDorama/
Even though I hate all the characters in #AboutLove, director Yang Lei is doing an excellent job. This scene in episode 12 is incredibly creative and sets out the moral dilemma of the story very well #cdrama
I didn’t report on this because it sounded like wishful thinking from someone trying to pay his debts, but now there’s an official Disney+ statement:
"The reports saying that we're preparing to release #KnockOff this year are not true. There's no additional update other than our existing position.”
Bringing over a discussion I'm having with @thedramanotes.bsky.social about censorship in China and what netizens do and don't know about what's going on in their own country. #cdrama
This drama in particular has a lot of messy couples and you can't have a plot or ending where absolutely everyone is a piece of shit and the one marriage ends in divorce. The censorship wasn't always this strict, it got a lot worse in the past 5 years or so.
PS someone described Bei as an NPC in love and the accuracy 🤌 I was planning to finish this drama but I'm not sure I can do it #AboutLove #Cdrama
These comments on Xiaohongshu are super interesting regarding how censorship affects the plots of the Cdramas we watch in general and #AboutLove specifically.
Triage your exposure to the news because adrenal burnout is a thing. Remember that you can mute words and stick to the #kdrama #cdrama and #AsianDrama feeds so you aren't unexpectedly slammed with something you can't handle.
