Then again I also suck at Russian and English and I say Iβm fluent in those
Then again I also suck at Russian and English and I say Iβm fluent in those
I actually have no idea if I can say Iβm fluent in Spanish or not. I now use it with my partner 95% of the time, and it doesnβt feel too tiring, but I still think I suck at it π
Everyone talks about how language learning is easier when youβre a polyglot thanks to language similarities and better methods
How about this: you realise that your struggles in speaking language A right now are exactly what you had in language B two years ago, and youβre now (nearly) fluent in B
Mao Akiyama will be graduating from Tsubaki Factory and Hello! Project after the group's autumn tour. The 23-year-old, who has been with Hello! Project for 10 years, is moving on to a new challenge. www.helloproject.com...
I should take a few Mandarin lessons to make sure my pronunciation is as good as it can be at beginner level. Iβve only had group irl lessons before where I got no personal feedback on pronunciation, and then self-study
I mean the icy winter is ending. Now we are moving onto slushy winter, which could last until May haha
In good news though, winter is finally ending here, with tempreratures around 0C, and my room humidity has risen to 27%!
Iβm not prone to worrying at all, on the contrary, I often wonder if Iβm too carefree in the sense nothing makes me lose my nightβs sleep. These days though, I donβt know if the world has become ten times worse than ever in my lifetime or if Iβm just old. Could be both
Regarding my Japanese focus: itβs now March and I still havenβt moved onto Mandarin. Iβm enjoying my weekly Japanese italki lessons too much, I wanna keep taking them. Had one just now. Starting from tomorrow though, Iβll add Mandarin to my routine as well as my low priority / maintenance languages
Well Maopinβs grad will probably be late autumn, itβs too early to be thinking of that right now. Whether I will be going to Japan or Singapore/Malaysia next autumn/winter season or not, that might not even depend on me. The world is too unpredictable
I just had a conversation with my partner, he canβt go to Japan this year. We had initially planned to go in autumn together. Maybe I should go alone to Maopin grad
Maopin is graduating πβ€οΈπ₯Ί
I mean in some cases it might be excessive, but most of the time when people say this, itβs because someone expressed a concern for a first time. I have missed a job opportunity because the interviewer assumed incorrectly I were shy. βWho cares what others think?β I care! I wanted that job!
I hate it when people say βyou care too much what other people thinkβ. What else are we supposed to be thinking of? The feelings of rocks and stones? We are human beings living among fellow human beings, trying to have relationships and jobs and whatnot. OF COURSE it matters!
La Primera Vez new season is coming in March, I really look forward to it
I love these
I just found out Tzuyu has dogs called Kaya and Butter, I love that
I tried playing the Sims 4 once, named my character Marina Bay, she had cats called Merlion, Kaya, and maybe one more but I canβt remember the name, something Singapore related as well π
My grammar was quite horrible, and I hesitated so much while simultaneously talking too fast, but it looked like the teacher understood everything I said, so I'm proud of this effort. I think when I speak it's quite clear I've listened to it waaaay more than ever spoken it π
I just had a 45 min solo Japanese lesson, normally it's a duo one, but the other person had to skip it. We talked about Polyglot Gathering and Japanese reality shows. This was my most intense Japanese conversation ever. My previous experiences (not so many) were all in a group setting (3+ people)
What a coincidence, the person who sold this calendar to me just messaged me (without me asking first) saying the package got sent back to them, and is offering to send it again with this year's calendar, that's very kind (I don't blame them on the issue at all, our postal services suck)
When I search youtube for Kuala Lumpur travel videos, itβs people from all over the world going βlook at this magnificent templeβ and βyou have got to see this skylineβ but the same search for Johor Bahru (Malaysian city at Singapore border) and itβs just Singaporeans showing food close-ups π
I've often had side accounts for different purposes, and I always just end up using one π

Georgia was skating to MORTAL KOMBAT at the Olympics exhibition gala
I use the word "to eat" too much in English. Sometimes it would be more natural to say "to have" something, right? But my Finnish brain tends to forget that
I just ate a hot meal with satay sauce, noodles, and a karjalanpiirakka (our local Karelian pasty) while watching two British people eating McDonald's in Malaysia
I'm posting some H!P things here, I'm not sure if I wanna keep using my separate fan account or not (maybe I should but it's a lot of effort)
Happy major debut anniversary to Tsubaki Factory!
They dropped this beautiful MV today

After weeks of 20% indoors humidity (not sure how long exactly, I bought my weather station a couple of weeks ago) I finally have 23% in my room and I'm so happy
Just to clarify, I'm interested in both languages, but right now I'm more interested in Malaysia (and Singapore) as a travel destination than Indonesia. I already started learning Indonesian before, but my level is so low, I can't even tell the two languages apart (just some words), they're so alike
