My local Spoons' has an Italian beer on, Birrificio Italiano's Nigredo.
Nigredo is the Latin for 'blackness', the antonym of 'albedo' ('whiteness'). So it's a dark beer.
But what kind of dark beer? Untappd helpfully offered several paragraphs of Italian. Which translated roughly as follows:

When I got there I found that the tower was only three or four storeys high, while the fields were muddy and waterlogged, and in any case grew nothing but grass.
I dreamed I was in Switzerland, in a small rural village. On the outskirts there was a high tower, from the top of which you could look down and see a patchwork of fields, growing different coloured crops and separated by broad white paths.
I mean, it's not Montale or anything, but has it stayed with me? Yes, it really has.

If good poetry is what stays with you, the lyricists on Advertising's 1978 album _Jingles_ (geddit?) should be in every anthology going. I got rid of it 40+ years ago, without even taping it, and still frequently find bits of it going round in my head.

Very odd phrasing. Is "legalistic" meant to be *worse* than "petulant" - and "political" worst of all?

Your regular reminder than a large majority of voters - and overwhelming majority of Labour voters - favour giving settled migrants access to the welfare state after five years or less. The Home Secretary is not reforming rules in line with public opinion. She is doing the opposite.
Rule 1. There are more votes on the Right than the Left, so always go Right, never Left.
Rule 2. It would be wrong to go Left even for votes, so if Rule 1 temporarily fails to deliver, hold your nerve and keep going Right.

I don't have much of a read on Blue Labour, but I think the old Right see alienating the Left and attracting the Right as two sides of the same coin, and both as essential to success. Gaining Ipswich in 2025 while losing Leicester South was their approach to party management writ large...

Wow. One of my tutors had a story of this happening with a juror - who left the court by the downstairs exit - but only at the lowest end of the contempt tariff (which is what, 24 hours?).
