IWT too and have to admit, left a bit disappointed (mad even?) from that Cosmic Charlie tease. I felt the energy drain going into Wharf Rat. It was a great experience though as I never went to any other “big event” show New Years.

Been away for too long. Inspired to share this Black Throated Wind. Love the fills that Jerry does between the lyrics in this song. START at "city of blues" 2:15 and you'll find each one just exactly perfect. Just so beautiful and never overshadows brilliant lyrics.

Fantastic! Thx for sharing! Some of these 76 jams are really unique. Keith driven themes have a different flavor. Thing that surprises me about this is how long they go on. Usually there is a push or nudge for a change-up by someone, but they just go with it.
This was a good listen. Thanks for sharing! What I heard was Phil carrying it for some time. Then it seems they have a hard time finding a theme and sticking with it. Still interesting in all the angles they try! Pretty loose version as they are heading into 77!
I got one of those! Maybe even the stub too.
Me too. Sometimes I still hear it, but I always FEEL it
Tell me this is true!!! 🤣🤣🤣
No such thing as a Cumberland that doesn’t deliver the goods.
So happy you had that experience! 😎
I obviously appreciate your love for the band, but maybe #gratefuldead for reach instead?
I have not. I will def give it a listen! Thanks!
What a beautiful Morning Dew. Bruce Hornsby contributes so much on the piano (which a treat during this late era), but... maybe a little too much? He doesn't give Jerry much space for his finale solo and there is no closing line. START 9:00 Still a joy to hear! archive.org/details/gd19...
There is no argument here! 🔥
Giving it a listen right now!
I dig the launching and ending of Playin' jams. This one takes a while to decide where to go until Jerry hits the groove. START around 7:25. Segment at 15:00 sounds like return to song, but not quite ready. Turns into it's own lovely thing. #gratefuldead

Blazing Jack Straw and ode to Close Encounters too. Jerry is supposedly an extra in the Close Encounters film.
All around great show for a full listen.
This is probably the most intense opening of The Other One. Probably bad link, but click through and you may have to play on Webamp mode. Totally worth it. START with Drums for the full experience. First time I heard this I literally "woo-hoo'd" in my car at a stoplight.

Grateful God Damn Dead!!! ❤️
Neat little moment in GD history where a character referenced in a song coincidentally just introduced the band prior to the song being played. Reference START: 3:55 #gratefuldead

It's not always the destination, but how they get there. The quiet build to rip-roaring parts of E72 The Other Ones always get me. Keith and Jerry tease around until Jerry finally just lets it rip. Start: 17:10 End 23:00 But stay for the rest! 🤯#gratefuldead archive.org/details/gd19...

This jam has such a unique Tango feel. Keith is driving this. START 2:40 in for some punchy Jerry spins and dips. END 3:05 We are Dancing to the Stars! Scores are in. 10/10/10

Something is odd with these Relisten links when I post from my phone. Trying this link instead: archive.org/details/gd19...
Brilliant! I dig it! Starts at 5:00. That’s some groove Jerry locked them into! Had a hint of it earlier in the Good Lovin’. Slowed the Samson a bit. While they had a chance to up the tempo at the intro, they still stuck with it.
Something is missing here. Oh! It’s Jerry! At least until the last “anymore”.
Start 5:10 End 6:15
