Today is Disability Day of Mourning, remembering disabled people murdered by caregivers/family.
Any journalist who portrays these stories as anything short of murder is doing serious journalistic malpractice, yet it happens so often. disability-memorial.org
β¦experience. The characters are beautifully written, relatable and who you instantly fall in love with and want to root for. And it has a happy ending which we all want and can happen! Itβs a book that I know many of my #chronicallyill and #disabled followers will love! Highly recommended! π
β¦which there were plenty! The book covers everything from being seen as #InspirationPorn, #MedicalMisogyny and life with #ChronicPain through the loss of friendships, identity and purpose. Itβs a true portrayal of life when you have an illness clearly written by someone who has first-handβ¦
Itβs sad that #chronicillness, #chronicpain and #disability representation in books is rare. So, I get excited when I find it, and especially so when itβs good! #ItsAllInYourHead by @nordqvistbooks.bsky.social is such an excellent example. I highlighted so many passages that resonated with meβ¦.
Thanks so much for taking the time to explain this!!

FLAG:Β Trump-related files are missing from DOJ's Epstein release.
There's at least one witness for whom three 2019 FBI interviews are missing.
That woman is the same person who, in a 2025 FBI presentation, is identified to have accused Trump of a sexual assault when she was between 13 and 15.
Thanks so much, Lindsey π₯°
Yay! Ironically fake dating happens to be one of my least fav tropes, personally. π I think bc it can often feel very contrived & needs lots of suspension of disbelief. But here I was intrigued by how IAIYH used it to demonstrate a REALLY vital bit of disability oppression AND community support.
Also thanks to @ellatholmes.bsky.social for reposting Sabina's recent article, or I might not have looked for IAIYH at the library. BRB, gonna go order my own copy at my local indie bookstore and tell them to stuff their disability section with as many copies as can possibly fit. Bc OMFG this BOOK π₯Ή
I have so much to say about It's All In Your Head, but none of them are coherent (see the aforementioned staying-up-to-4-am because it was too good and I just HAD to finish it). It's gonna be a low spoon day because I lost so much sleep but it was SO WORTH IT. @nordqvistbooks.bsky.social THANK YOU π
THIS BOOK IS A TREASURE. Finished @ 4am. Cried at least 5x just to feel so seen as a disabled + chronically ill person in a loving relationship. SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS BOOK. (And for the thorough CW, it def needed it.) But reading intense health care scenes from a disabled author hits SO differently!
Screenshot of the audiobooks app showing the book It's All In Your Head by Sabina Nordqvist, which has a lilac cover with a female character resting against some of the words and a male character with a cane resting against aome other letters. There are other symbols of their life dotted around, including a giant pill, a sleep eye mask, and a snowboard.
Today's another rough health day. So I'm grateful to fellow chronically ill and disabled authors who centre this kind of life in their stories.
"It's All In Your Head" by @nordqvistbooks.bsky.social is my current read and whilst I'm only one chapter in, I love it already.

In the concentration camp universe, this is what's known as a filtration camp. A government preemptively takes a whole class of people to interrogate and detain extrajudicially in order to inflict duress on them while arbitrarily assessing their (supposed) culpability.

This essay is so, so incredibly important π
I hope Sabina's romance debut is the first of many more to come!!
Thank you!
Thank you Artyπ₯Ήπ₯Ή
Sabinaβs book is excellentβone of the most beautiful romance novels Iβve ever read. Itβs on of those stories that stays in my head and my heart forever.
Her essay on disability in romance hit home for me. There IS room for our stories and for happily ever afters that include disability.

@nordqvistbooks.bsky.social on writing a romance novel that decenters the abled gaze: βBut I wasnβt having any meaningful interrogation of what stories I was consuming and why; I was simply desperate for any kind of representation where disabled characters didnβt die.β
"I continue to include more than one disabled character because I know what itβs like to be in isolationβand how it feels to finally be in community with those who understand."
Happy book birthday to @nordqvistbooks.bsky.socialβ€οΈ
