No worries! With pathologies is very hard since bone reacts in similar ways to many different things so you can never be 100% sure unless you know that animal’s story 😅
I was going to say that it looks like a very badly rehealed fracture! But it could be a mix of that and infection that made the rehealing of the fracture weird!

I don't know my pathologist (self taught #zooarchaeology ) but something is telling me that this red fox had some major issues and owwies with its femurs. #animalbones #archaeology
I absolutely hate taking trains in the UK. 5 cancelled trains… Early entry tickets for an event wasted. And the won’t pay anything back cause they’re a greedy private company. So unacceptable.

New paper. Recording the female experience of UK archaeology 1990-2010. Anne Teather and I document how an industry EDI agenda evolved in the 1990s and was dismantled, uncovering the ramifications of that for women archaeologists over the next decade.

Not to mention that I should be WORKING ON MY PHD not filling up the LONGEST RISK ASSESSMENT EVER. Honestly, the School of Biosciences loves their paperwork... I'm so done.
I *HATE* risk assessments. I'm anxious enough about travel without having to think about illness, kidnapping and death, thank you very much!

This would be higher if they weren't destroying full departments that were on the Top 10-30 in the world, but that's not what's important to them, I guess...
