On Monday, they’ll remove the shoulder lump to determine what type of cancer.

And just to make things even more stressful for us…
Our landlord is going to raise the rent another $400, making our rent $3,300 per month, not including utilities
We really need help.
My fiancé’s mom, who we care for, has a large mass between her lungs and her left lung collapsed. She needs another bronchoscopy. We were turned away from a PCP over insurance confusion. We’re struggling with living and medical costs.

Horrible place. We came here as my mother needed a primary care physician due to her ongoing health issues. It takes a lot to get her outside, she is working on one lung due to a collapse from a mass that we are still figuring out what it is. Weeks before our appointment, we provided her Medicare and BC/BS insurances, with no issues. However, she also has Medicaid which I provided as an additional form of insurance if accepted, when we arrived in-person. What we received was, in my eyes based on considering the situation, a form of discrimination. One lady said they don’t take Medicaid, which I explained that’s fine, we have two other insurances which they do accept. It seems no one there (excluding the nice blonde who initially checked us in who didn’t seem to understand the situation herself either) could get past the fact that I mentioned three times at this point to forego the Medicaid, it was brought as an in-case, not as an absolute. Then the worst part of the interaction was an older woman, probably 60’s, who may have been the office manager or something, coming up to me and saying and I quote, “Medicare only pays for 80% of the costs, and the rest we won’t be paid. We can’t see her.” Despite the fact that I’ve said we have BlueCross BlueShield, it seems she couldn’t look past the fact I said MedicaID, and viewed us as “poor” people due to the tone and words she used with me. After the 5th time of reiterating that we have MedicaRE/BCBS, she once again said “we won’t get paid, she can’t be seen here” I said let’s go to my parents.
Did I raise my voice? Absolutely I did, she tells me to calm down when there was no reasoning with her to begin with, as if it was in one ear and out the other. I am defensive when it comes to those I love, but I never cussed at her or anyone in the building. I didn’t attack anyone there verbally, just asked to please listen that we have insurance that they accept. I am currently looking at legal options because having Medicaid doesn’t mean you should be looked down at, and to be refused even when you have multiple insurances to cover the costs. No one should ever go through what we did, and I will tell anyone I ever talk to to stay far away from this place.

She is having her second bronchoscopy today due to the mass tissue sample being too necrotic last time to determine anything.
We have sent our landlord half of the rent so far for this month, but desperately still need to pay the other half asap…

She was supposed to be seen by a primary care physician today but when we arrived, they denied us because they don’t accept Medicaid, we explained multiple times that we have Medicare and Blue Cross Blue Shield. A definite waste of time and aggravation. Back to the drawing board for a primary care.

I don’t blame our landlord in this situation. He is not profiting off of us, instead taking a loss even after the increase.
We’ve discussed it further and he said even with the increase, he still anticipates losing $5,000 in the next year.
Everything is just too fucking expensive for everyone.
For further context we are living where he use to live.
He had to move, and wasn’t able to sell it for what he paid for, so that’s what made him decide to put it up for rent.
He’s not one of those greedy landlords who owns rental properties and paints everything white and calls it “refurbished”
