I hate it here
Everytime I think to myself "should I text this guy about music recs?" he has the primo shit on lock
IV (Part 2) even as a demo marks a landmark achievement for Spectral Lore. The material is *dense* but a magnum opus like IV displays all the best qualities of the various subgenres of black metal. IV deserves a place amongst the best black metal. Amazing

My favorite albums of 2025 in no order. A special place reserved for the Clair Obscur soundtrack. (Counting IV PART 1 for this list since it "released on December 31, 2024 and was being worked on more this year). A great year!
Two-stepping to Trojan Whore between squat sets
Having fun in the gym listening to music means running the risk that someone will ask what's got me moving and grooving (it's Prowler in the Yard)
Nice to see a hometown band make some killer black/doom @fiadh.bsky.social

If you'd asked me when I first started listening to metal if I'd ever be excited to see Japanese power metal live... unsurprisingly the answer would be yes. Lovebites tonight, extremely hype!
Conjurer - Unself
Pleased to say that the new Conjurer is even better than the last Conjurer, which is saying something because the last Conjurer was excellent
This is one of the best albums of the year
Genuinely one of the best albums of the 2020s
It's one of the most engaging and interesting records I've listened to this year
A bit disappointed with the new Agriculture release. Bodhidharma, Serenity, and Hallelujah all hit the mark but everything else doesn't quite work for me.
My little man isn't getting better. He may have to be kept overnight a few days to make sure he's hydrated and eating right, and I'm working on selling anything I own not essential to survival to get him what he needs. Already sold my bass today for half its worth.

My heart is held up (again)!
This is beefy and the first record from ESOCTRILIHUM that's clicked for me, exciting times ahead

I love death metal
Give them a few years and they'll be saying that the imagery they're using for their albums are only Nazi if you believe that everyone around you is a Nazi
I've seen them live 2-3 times now and they are so fun! I wish the crowds here would show up with the same energy they bring.
Say no more
We should just tell all the people in Indonesia to protest peacefully instead and see how that goes. Fucking ludicrous.
And while we're at it: the two of us have had a closer friendship as we've grown older but being able to share music as well as our social and political beliefs has only strengthened our friendship. And I have a lot of gratitude for a friend like him. So celebrate him when you can, he's a joy
A superb choice
There are no wrong answers here. Only joy and riffs.
The riffs are definitely better and the production is clean but there's something about how that album sounds filthy AF that resonates with me
Bolt Thrower - Those Once Loyal
I know it's a meme how beloved Bolt Thrower is but my introductions to death metal were whatever @bayoublastbeats.bsky.social sent my way. Those Once Loyal blew the genre wide open for me and it'll always be special to me (even if The IVth Crusade is the better album).
