Earlier this week, we has great screening of Unmasking Influence - a film highlights scutproduced by the Commercial Determinants of Health Group.

Earlier this week, we were delighted to host a special screening of Unmasking Influence at the University of Edinburgh’s Adam House Theatre.

Over 50 people attended the in person screening and we had a very engaging and informative panel discussion and Q&A. We'd like to thank everyone our pannelists - insert names) who attended and their insights made for an inspiring afternoon of reflection and action.

Unmasking Influence unveils how powerful commercial actors shape our daily lives β€” influencing what we eat, see, and believe β€” often at the expense of health, equity, and sustainability. The film challenges us to confront these forces and to work collectively toward a fairer, healthier future.

The film features Dr Keith Tyrell, CPSP’s Head of Global Strategy (formerly Director, Pesticide Action Network UK) and Dr May van Schalkwyk, Research Fellow at CPSP and co-producer of the film, alongside Professor Mark Petticrew at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Our thanks to the SPECTRUM Consortium, the Commercial Determinants Research Group, and all those who continue to expose and challenge harmful commercial determinants of health.

The film will be released publicly on 3rd November.

The public remains largely unaware of the extent to which the alcohol, gambling, food and other industries are very active in schools in the UK, and around the world - including developing 'educational' materials, & building links with teachers as an opportunity to peddle misinformation to children.
