That was the whole plagiarism thing where people accused him of ripping speeches. Up until then he was seen as a contender.

Jesse was INCREDIBLY complicated. He had a lot of good and bad. But his enduring legacy: realizing Black voters had to be courted like any other constituency and turning them into THE constituency that must be courted, especially in the South.
I always like to remind people in the 1988 campaign, Jesse got more delegates than Joe Biden. Biden dropped out before the primaries began in 1987 and Jesse would win states like South Carolina and Michigan.
It is hell
Hottest of takes: Colin Allred's campaign was underwhelming (he ran the Chuck Schumer basement strategy), but he didn't perform that badly. If Kamala Harris had put up the same performance as Biden 2020, he'd be a Senator today.
That's his brother Ray
Don Huffines, who was revealed a few weeks ago to have bought Epstein's Zorro Ranch in New Mexico, is the Republican nominee to become the Texas comptroller, the state's chief accountant.

Hey @lyndonbajohnson.bsky.social you got that campaign ad about the Dallas Cowboys?
A lot of people On Here™ only know Don Huffines as the guy who bought Epstein's Zorro Ranch. But there's a whole lot more about Don Huffines is even weirder. Huffines is largely responsible for Greg Abbott shifting significantly to the right.

Still. all that costs money. Engagement requires investment.
Name ID and social media will only get you far enough. You gotta actually have an infrastructure and a team around you.
6.2 percent isn't barely beating someone. It's not an ass-whooping. But it's a definitive win.
Honestly don't know.
Need to keep your eye on the ball, Sir. I'm sure you and Connally discussed Crockett and this Talarico fellow.
Sir.
One reason Crockett lost to Talarico: She did not have a campaign manager for the entirety of her run, and while she delegated components of her campaign to trusted advisers, she largely managed operations herself. Talarico outraised her 5 to 1.

Trump has discussed deploying ground troops with aides and Republican officials outside the White House while outlining his vision for a post-war Iran in which Iran’s uranium is secure and the U.S. and a new Iranian regime cooperate on oil production. www.nbcnews.com/politics/whi...
Texas, Tech, and A&M NIL is about to go through the roof.

True. In hindsight, I was mouthing off. So I'm just gonna delete that since it was silly.
True. Though a lot of affluent suburban Texans who might otherwise vote for Talarico could wind up pulling for Cornyn or Paxton. But I could be completely wrong.
But Texas is unique in that higher gas prices benefit the state on a net plus. West Texas Intermediary shot up today over $90. Everywhere else though? Hoo boy.
I mean, it's still going to hurt a lot of people nationwide and it'll actually hurt Republicans in literally every other state. Republicans are screwed in Ohio, Iowa, Maine and North Carolina, as well as a hell of a lot of districts and governorships.

A chart showing WTI Crude at $90.76 a barrel, up 9.75 or 12.04% as of March 6, 2026.
$WTI West Texas Intermediary is now at $90.76 a barrel.
Let’s see where we are in a week once people have absorbed the move in gasoline prices.
It's excellent because there was all this post-war technology and these new electric instruments. So they just kind of try everything. It's why I love the old Chess records or the early Rock and Roll Records. Link Wray's "The Rumble" is so proto-metal.
BREAKING: Russia has provided Iran with information that can help Tehran strike the U.S. military, AP sources say.
I'd probably crush two Nicaragua hot dogs in one sitting and three Venezuela hot dogs in another.
Another shattering piece by Rachel Aviv that--like her story on Alice Munro's family--goes deep into sexual abuse, parents and children, denial and recognition, and intersections with publicity. Aviv is an extraordinary writer.
