Happy Pride Portland! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
A woman and a little boy whose face is obscured are on top of an open top bus at Leeds pride parade. Pride flags are being waved and the streets are lined with smiling crowds either side of the road.
Brilliant day at #LeedsPride on the @northpointmh.bsky.social parade bus! Great atmosphere, love this city ♥️ Happy pride everyone 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Thanks!
I’ve enjoyed this respectful differing in views and perspectives. This really is nicer than Twitter. Thanks :)
Interesting. Whilst I don’t expect to walk into a job, as a working mum this puts me off big time. I’ve hired people that are great at interviews but then it doesn’t work out . The whole point of a probation period is to figure out the fit and at least pay the person while you do.
Hey Jason how do I list my events on there?
It’s a big red flag to me. That’s free work you’re getting there. Even if some of the steps are straightforward, it’s 5 occasions you need to take time away from your existing job, right?
P.S. I don’t come on the internet to moan all the time, I’m just *shook* by this 🙃🙃
Not in my house it can’t 🙃 I guess it’s not aimed a me though 💵

Just a reminder 💜
Can anyone recommend a python course for a non-engineer?
Hey! I remember product coffee 😊. I think I’m gonna do it monthly at the same place in Leeds city centre. Not sure when but I’ll post it on here.
A new format for Product Assembly! Really enjoyed running my first #LeanCoffee meet up. Everyone was so up for it! We had some great discussion about culture in product teams, how to deal with HIPPOs & how to demonstrate value when your product’s primary goal isn’t 💰 . Can’t wait for the next one!
The room is still and silent with the audience captivated by the talk.

Ekphrasis or ecphrasis (from the Greek) is a rhetorical device indicating the written description of a work of art. It is a vivid, often dramatic, verbal description of a visual work of art, either real or imagined.

Here’s my attempt for the pic above in parts (character limits 😊):
An audience member’s perspective of Lola Odelola’s talk on using more poetic language in Alt text for screen readers. The view shows a plush cinema surrounded by darkness except for the large cinema screen projecting Lola’s slides.

Really enjoyed @lolaodelola.bsky.social ‘s talk at @heypresents.com on creative use of alt tags & writing more beautiful descriptions for screen readers. I’ve since spent more time & effort on alt tags & try to make them more poetic. Check out Lola’s work it’s fascinating ✨
