Representative Tony Gonzales
Will Not Seek Re-election
Several House members had called for Mr.
Gonzales, a Texas Republican, to step down after texts emerged showing his pursuit of a staff member who later killed herself.
Representative Tony Gonzales, a Texas Republican accused of coercing a staff member into a sexual relationship before she killed herself, said on Thursday he would not seek re-election amid growing bipartisan outcry from fellow House members.

Sure:
Who doesnβt want to return to the good ole days
- when the executive branch was utterly unconstrained, so could spy on its own citizens (e.g., MLK)?
- when Presidents would barely inform Congress before launching us into disastrous wars, killing tens of thousands of Americans?

Our running list of judges who have ruled on ICEβs mass detention policy
POLITICO is keeping track of the federal judges who have ruled on the administrationβs effort to systematically lock up thousands of people.
Thatβs true of
- R justices: all of them;
- R appellate judges: many of them;
- R district judges: fewer than youβd think.
See
βDistrict court judges appointed by every president since Ronald Reagan have overwhelmingly agreed, rejecting the new policyβ

- Congress is silent in the face of that law-breaking
- the Supreme Court enables & offers legal cover for such illegality

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), whose Epstein Files Transparency Act is responsible for this glimpse at what the people who run the world say to each other when they think nobody else is looking, was a guest on our Organized Money podcast, and he expressed a change in his entire view of politics because of his work on this. βUntil we get some of this elite accountability,β he said, βuntil people see that the people who did this are being held accountable, the bankers who caused the Great Recession, the people who got us into wars, this Epstein class, until they see that, I donβt know that we will have the trust to do the bold democratic projects that I want to do.β
We know this because
Ruemmler's email exchange with Epstein
made its way into
DOJ's investigative files about Epstein.
IOW:
the Epstein Files Transparency Act
gives us
a "glimpse at
what the people who run the world

It's important,
-- essential, really --
to answer these questions:
What methods does the "Epstein class" use to avoid accountability?
&
Who enables their impunity?
The Epstein files offer some answers.

The Quintessential Epstein Files Email - The American Prospect
Jeffrey Epstein and his friends standing up for Mary Jo White against Elizabeth Warren tells you everything about the class war at the heart of the files.
Yes,
members of the "Epstein class"
are extremely wealthy.
But this class is also defined by
a belief in &
determination to maintain
"their own personal impunity."
The "Epstein class" is
"an elite that schemes to remain ... unaccountable"
