Hey y’all, I’ve been seeing reports of tons and tons of email scams going around lately regarding audiobook VO. These emails will often come from a random Gmail address, use generic wording (ex: “we were impressed by your website”), and provide little to no information about the supposed job.

Q: I'm so thrilled to see a trans male character as the player character! We rarely get any representation in media, nevermind as a player. I was already extremely excited to play the game when it drops, but now I'm going completely feral about it! A: thank you! Most of our team is somewhere under the trans masc umbrella (some nonbinary, some trans guys) and Renfield being a trans guy was an important part of our original decision to make the game at all.

A: When we started in 2019, it was post-Dream Daddy and in the lead up to Tell Me Why, and while I can't speak for everyone, I was kind of frustrated that a lot of trans masc rep in games was focused on characters who were squarely morally good. It was clearly driven by a desire to educate and win over other demographics, which is a noble cause, but it felt pretty stifling looking out at a landscape of games where the model for trans masculinity was one where pretty much every character had to be an ambassador rather than just A Guy. Renfield comes from a place of wanting to see more trans masc characters who are allowed to be flawed humans AND leading men at the same time. He's not here to be perfect, sometimes he's not even here to be good, but he's here and he's doing his best to survive. Since that's all most of us can do! Let's wish him luck out there.
