Such an interesting article in #rcslt #bulletin with great messages for line managers and employers. As a 47 year old NQP it definitely gave me lots to think about. #midlifecareerchoices

Itβs a long time since I last posted. Took a posting break. New job, unexpected challenges, lots of wobble. Still here though, setting things up for a better 2026.
Officially employed. Started my two week induction yesterday and met some lovely people. Cant wait to get started
Good news post. Pleased to say that I earned myself a first class degree. Hopefully proof to all that youβre never to old to start over and learn something new.
Just wanted to mention the BSL Bright app Iβve started using to learn some sign language. Itβs brilliant
Thank you βΊοΈ
Itβs been a while since I posted but thatβs because Iβve been busy with final year and dissertation. Itβs due tomorrow. Iβve submitted it. Results day and graduation to go then thatβs the end of uni life

One month left to finish my dissertation. Loving the research but the responses have been emotionally challenging. Hope I manage to do the participants who shared their stories justice.
Such a privilege to be able to join the #primaryprogressiveaphasiaawarenessday webinar and to hear stories of those living with it.
Study findings may support use of transitional solids as a βbridgeβ & safe consistency to facilitate progression to higher, more challenging textures in medically complex persons w/ #dysphagia: An important initial step! on.asha.org/424KqcG

Thats awesome π
Yay! Good luck. Iβm currently trying to figure out best time to job hunt as wonβt be graduating and hcpc registered until mid year
Seeing these and crocus are signs of hope I think. Spring and light is coming :)
Just discovered this resource from RCSLT for NQPs. Itβs really useful as are the hints and tips on their NQP pages. Will be looking into them more tomorrow.

Yesterdayβs placement team meeting had focus on children mental health week. impressed that conversation wasnβt just about clients but also encouraged the team to think about their mental health & prioritise it.
Hoping that my future employers are so empowering and focused on wellbeing of all.l
Early to placement so doing some work in my car. Have my coffee and a personal hotspot for my internet access so Iβm good to go. βΊοΈ #sltplacement #finalyear
As someone looking in I find it terrifying how quickly this has happened & how complicit people are. The media in UK are doing little reporting on it and Iβve seen little to suggest that Americans are actively standing up for women and minorities etc. itβs got real WW2 vibes.
Its #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek! Myself and Sarah Griffiths have worked together with clinicians, young people with #devlangdis and families to help mental health practitioners to make sessions more accessible for children with Developmental Language Disorder. Here are signs of DLD in MH settings:
Thank you for replying and for your words. I appreciate them
Hello all, is there a dysphagia clinical excellence network on here for UK (England)
All help appreciated.
Thanks
I have many regrets about Earth, but making humans in a wide range of colors, shapes, and temperaments is not one of them.
Celebrate thy diversity.
Love each other.
This sounds brilliant but am on placement. Hoping it can be recorded π€πΌπ€πΌπ€πΌπ€πΌ
Iβm so sorry for whatβs happening in your country. I canβt believe so many voted for the orchestrator of it
Be really great to hear from any mature students who have qualified as speech and language therapist in their late 30s & 40s because right now I am having a real crisis of confidence in my ability to find employment when I graduate in summer compared to those who are graduating in their early 20s
Just submitted my 4500 assignment for complex developmental and neurological conditions module. Two assignments down, a viva and dissertation to goβ¦ π¬
Delivered Narrative Therapy with a peer SLT student today. A few hiccups but we improvised and it went great. Feeling proud π #sltstudent #slt2be #myslt2beday
Had a great day! This morning I reviewed referrals & observed a CELF assessment. Was reassuring to see that my observations were the same as my Practice Educator. Really feel like itβs all coming together.
Could not have asked for a better final placement & team.
