I got the new covid vaccine on Monday. My teens only have to wait another 11 and 13 years respectively until they can get another one in NZ. π€―
Afterwards I pushed the high school, yet again, for clear comms telling parents to keep symptomatic kids home from school and school activities, noting this

The reason for reading the report isn't to change this government's mind. They are wholly incapable of being moved from their ideologically held positions, regardless of evidence and domain expert input.
The reason is for voters to be reminded of this so they can act accordingly in November #nzpol

AUSTIN TUCKER MARTIN

People close to Martin describe him as well-meaning but increasingly frustrated, particularly about the economy. We're told he often complained that young people need two jobs or roommates to afford moving out. Our sources say he still lived with his parents.

I don't know if you read up on the Epstein Files, but evil is real and unmistakable
The best people like you and I can do is use what little influence we have. Tell other people about what you hear about the Epstein files and what the government is doing about it. Raise awareness

Hey! Where are you?

Austin Tucker Martin was shot and killed by Secret Service outside Mar-a-Lago. He was a Trump supporter who believed Trump's lies that he'd take down the Epstein network.
The disillusioned young man tried to enter the club with a shotgun after becoming upset with Trump's ongoing Epstein cover-up.

The reason why we can afford to put homeless people in prison but not housing is because if you house them the homeless person benefits but if you put them in prison we can funnel public funds to a private prison corporation. Itβs always about funneling public funds to the wealthy. Always.

Street transformation from car space to street willed with people including kids
Itβs not just about what you remove (cars, noise, dirty air). Itβs about what you add (people walking, a lot of bike parking, trees, outdoor dining, and room for kids to play safely). Amsterdam: 1986 and today.
Streets for people.

Who's the billionaire behind Londonβs biggest mass eviction?
He's the London philanthropist who says he's committed to solving homelessness. So why is Asif Aziz's Criterion Capital rushing to make hundreds of Londoners homeless in the coming weeks?
Londonβs βworst mass eviction in recent historyβ is underway; hundreds of households across London told to get out of their homes this week by the same landlord, ahead of the renters rights act. The landlord? Billionaire Asif Azizβs Criterion Capital. www.londoncentric.media/p/asif-aziz-...

Statement from
Te Ohu Whakawhanaunga TΓ€maki Makaurau
COMMUNITY ALLIANCE RESPONSE TO
"MOVE-ON" POLICY ANNOUNCEMENT
Housing is a human right. Political leaders in Aotearoa have an obligation to uphold that right.
Housing and support will end homelessness.
Enforcement will not.
We will be taking action.

Statement from
Te Ohu Whakawhanaunga Tamaki Makaurau
People who have experienced homelessness, addiction, mental distress and life on the streets know the pain of being targeted simply for existing in public spaces.
Unlike most of us, they do not have safe, warm welcoming houses to return to. Just sitting, resting, carrying belongings or looking unwell can be seen as anti-social.
MΓ£ori and Pacific young people are disproportionately labelled as likely to cause disorder'.
When inhumane solutions are proposed, with no involvement from the community and support providers, we must take action.
We call on our representatives in central and local government to show compassion. Do not blame the victims of a broken housing system.
We must solve homelessness in our city with solutions that are rooted in people's right to a decent home.
Statement from
Te Ohu Whakawhanaunga TΔmaki Makaurau
What should be done? The evidence shows what works:
HOUSING FIRST
International and local research shows the most effective response is permanent housing with wraparound support.
TRANSITIONAL HOUSING
Provides stability and connection while permanent housing is found.
KAUPAPA MΓORI-LED HOUSING SOLUTIONS
These uphold mana motuhake and deliver better outcomes for whΓ£nau MΓ£ori.
ASSERTIVE OUTREACH
Builds trust and links people to housing and support services.
HOMELESSNESS PREVENTION
Ensure that no one is discharged from health, justice, care, or protection systems into homelessness.
COMMUNITY-LED RESPONSES
Local support providers can deliver tailored, targeted, culturally responsive support.
And of course...
BUILD PUBLIC HOUSING

More cruelty from the coalition
Get a submission in quick smart, if you can
The government is changing the law so they can penalise people on ACC and keep them in debt to Work and Income ~ lawfully.
Itβs a cruel approach that punches down on some of our most vulnerable citizens.
Submissions on the Bill close midnight tonight.
