Krista, thatβs only about half of it.
Krista, thatβs only about half of it.
Yes itβs a Canadian cold weather parka from 1996.
The never ending Stubs of my nagging cold
Just think, there is a timeline in which a version of you chooses each one of these.
Yes, that seems to be the one. Mine is from 1996, looks never used old stock, and I got it for seventy bucks!
Finally, I only found this out after buying it, but it has a cord around the waist so you can cinch it in, and give what is otherwise a fairly boxy garment a bit of a waist.
Unlike the US ones though, it doesnβt give any of the fabric composition details. Unless another tag is hidden someplace, maybe in the pockets, I havenβt checked, but so far I canβt find anything. Anyway, itβs probably cotton.
And you wonβt believe the price I got it for. Brand new never worn, 1996.
Ah, that makes a lot more sense than my βtensionβ theory. Iβm quite pleased to have my first Canadian military thing that I know of (aside from Marathon & Adanac watches). Probably wonβt get any use now as the season is turning, but come fall and winter 2026/27.
By the time I figure out which cough medicine is right for me, my cough will be probably be cured.

Found it. youtu.be/F-cum7Tn6-E
BEHOLD! bsky.app/profile/funr...
Nice.
@martinfff.bsky.social Martin, I got that Canadian Army all-purpose coat. I partly blame you. These must be the weird buttons you mentioned, is the point of the sliding to give the buttons some leeway, create less βtensionβ on the wearer & the garment than with fixed buttons? Do you have any history
I want to see more of these so I just skeeted number 637
Okay. The people have spoken.
For every reskeet this gets, I will post a random picture from my camera roll with no explanation (other than alt text).
Let the games begin.
Yes, it's filling but really quite average.

go to any cashier & say they donβt have a credit card needed for the kiosk & want to buy a pizza with cash. The cashier will ring up 2 pizzas, take the money, & then give the kid a receipt. The kid takes the receipt to the food counter & presents it to them. In less than a minute you have 2 pizzas
If youβre at Costco on a Saturday (when they are super packed) & you want to get a slice pizza, but you donβt want to wait 15 minutes to get to an open ordering kiosk, & then another 15 minutes for the pizza (& if you happen to have cash & a child* with you,) give the kid some cash & ask them to
I wonder if there is poison or some kind of traps
If you look at that sign in the right upper corner of the picture
The coffee grinder at this Costco is right next to the pest control station.
Yes, looks really unconventional. Like maybe originally it was a barn or a shed.
Doorway where they kept the horse-drawn fire carriage. Imagine how much the horses must have hated having to drive into a fire.
A volunteer bucket brigade was started in this community because of concerns after the nearby Great Chicago Fire of 1871. But after a fire at the Isermansβ wood-frame home could not be contained by the bucket brigade, they realized that a more formal system of firefighting was needed.

Liked the extra stones added to the brickwork of this chimney. Looks like maybe there might have been a figure in the center of it broken down over time or maybe a botched repair of some kind.
All you really need to know
