So many little things that annoy me normally that now I’m just content to exist with!
I’ve been on the road every day but one since last Friday, and I am basking in sitting on my living room floor listening to my son watch SpongeBob at the moment. 😆

Looking forward to the New England SCBWI (@newenglandscbwi.bsky.social) conference this weekend! I am presenting two workshops: one on picture book voice and one on research. Between those, a panel, and critiques, it’ll be a busy weekend. I am so excited to see everyone!
Do not dismiss the importance of firing the person from a position of caretaking one of our nation’s most treasured institutions, one responsible for protecting and showcasing research and information and offering cataloging guidance for all libraries and books.
Yesterday someone said to me “at least we get new leadership every 4 years & someone else gets a chance.” Of course, this isnt leadership. This is muscle-flexing. Of course, 4 yrs looks different when you spend them gutting the structures & people that stabilize us. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/08/u...
Shameful. Devestating. I urge people who keep making excuses to look at this and stop letting others get away with looking away and carrying on with business as usual. Regardless of the title, she remains my Librarian in Chief. #Librarysky

HB 324 would criminalize New Hampshire's K-12 educators, school libraries, and school boards.
If this bill passes, they'll be able to arrest librarians over textbooks, art books, and literary classics in NH.

Yes! Same.
Ooh fun! #kidlitchat
A particular performance can certainly make or break it! I also have had occasions of being surprised to learn after listening to an audiobook that it was actually a verse novel and not prose 😂 #kidlitchat
Of course! And that’s not to say it’s always easy to know 😉 it’s a great exercise to play and experiment with form in general and see how it changes a story! #kidlitchat
I have a similar approach although sometimes I remind myself that poetry is intended to be performed and experienced so I do think audiobooks can be a powerful medium for it! #kidlitchat
When it adds to the story and draws out and illuminates elements of the story that would not exist with out it. It’s like any other part of the story— a character, plot, setting or particular scene— how does rhyme move the story forward? #kidlitchat
