This is one of the eastern box turtles from my graduate research. I had to track their locations through radio telemetry for movement data. I found this one chowing on a mushroom - gosh I miss them

One of the coolest moments I experienced early in my career. This is an alligator snapping turtle that we captured during an academic field trip when I was an undergraduate student. This individual was estimated to be around one hundred pounds and possibly 80 years old. #WomeninSTEM #herpetology
