Indeed, @skyfeed.app 's algorithmic feed recommended elsewhere in the thread seems super promising in this regard!

Twitter's For You algorithm is still OK for me because it shows me a mix of gamedev,
various TV/game fan communities, and generic "funny popular tweets" without any nazi shit. "Communities" assist algorithms but there's a ton in there that I wouldn't see without an algorithm. Net positive tbh
The Reddit or Twitter "Communities" model might be the best way to achieve this under a decentralised or federated system.
Users can self-categorise their tweets, so you don't need big-data processing to identify topics, and per-topic moderators can opt bad users/tweets out.
Feeds are cool but at least for gamedev the feeds are either hashtag-based (lots of advertisements, not much discussion) or person-based (including political tweets from gamedevs unrelated to gamedev).
Algorithmic feeds can find the tweets I actually care about without relying on explicit tagging.
*beededededoop* Sam. It’s me, Die-Hardman. Wanted to let you know there’s banana bread in the kitchen. You can take a portion of this sweet cake bread anytime. Use the knife to cut off part of the loaf. You can take a full piece or a small piece depending on how hungry you are.
