Born in 1942. Grew up near Philadelphia. College in Maine (Bowdoin), PhD Johns Hopkins (French Lit), MSLS Catholic U, taught at SUNY Binghamton 5 years, public librarian 28 years, jazz clarinetist over 60 years.
