Horse drawing meme where the half of the horse that is drawn well says "Estimate causal effect" and the poorly drawn half says "Test mechanisms."
Re-post one of your best tweets. No screenshots.
I'll go first.

In the first part of this paper, I use a rigorous research design to estimate the causal effect of X on Y. I then turn to testing mechanisms by over-interpreting a bunch of correlations in the data.
Iβd go further than this. Seminar norms should match the talkβs contents.
For example, if itβs about rational inattention, not only can folks leave, they can make the speaker go through slides in any order
My friend and PhD colleague @bmottironi.bsky.social is on the market with a great paper!! Read and learn about labour market power and entrepreneurial misallocation π

An important insight from Claudia Goldin: the βchild penaltyβ is primarily the result of workplaces penalising women for their preference for flexibility.
This insight should inform labour policies. #econsky

CLAUDIA GOLDIN!!!
Nick Cox got a call from the Nobel committee but he told them that they had to upload the data first.
Have been lurking for the past couple of days so pushing myself to an introduction:
Hi #EconSky, I'm a PhD student in Labour Econ, currently working on social mobility and occupational choice. I'm on the market so send happy thoughts!
(Or a job offer)
It's funny, cause I was gonna say it actually seemed like there are mostly American economists (compared to the people I was following on twitter?). But pretty new around here so probably just have to find them :)
Baby will thank you in 15 years for taking such a cool picture of them
