all of this is info that i've yet to talk about in CMI oops, Icarus just honestly doesn't care (but we will get more of this info with Odysseus because he's an unreliable narrator in a v different way than Icarus is)

Icarus was groomed for this government. He was the perfect child and the ideal of the Elysian Program until he got out, but there's still a lot of unlearning to do. It's hard to see what you idolized for so long as bad, even if you have evidence that shows it is

-a militaristic entity than anything. So basically, ATLAS brought the US under it's control through a coup, enlisted environmentalists to become military personel to walk the streets all day every day, and rules as a corpocratic triumvirate
