Planning law has become a gravy train and a shambles in the UK, it needs a balanced reset. If that doesn’t sensibly happen. A govt in the future will take a hatchet to it all and everything & everyone will suffer in the long run.
What started as a good thing has become so expensive & cumbersome that risk of getting caught is now taken into account. Especially as the agencies are cut back. Planning for agri buildings are £20k+ without the many ecological surveys adding £1000’s cheaper to be fined.
Sadly any form of planning for farming & business has become impossible due to SSSI, ancient woodland, ecological, transport air and water surveys the list goes on and all have to be paid for. It is becoming obvious that the just build it and pay the fine is a cheaper option. That’s now happening.

At last the planning system is broken. 10 x £1000’s going toward paste and copy reports from the environmental bodies. Whose whole purpose is to stop any building at any cost.
