instead what happened repeatedly is that the audiences we wanted to inform dismissed our critical design artefacts as bad design, while those we were trying to warn against took them out of context and just added them to their moodboards (I’m pretty sure this is what happened with cybertruck)
a little critical design piece I made 15 years ago still turns up (unattributed) in my timeline every so often. every time it reminds me why critical design failed, because it’s really hard not to take design at face value
