From Feb 28 Statesman: The complaint filed on Tuesday alleges that a male student has been incorrectly using female restrooms at Austin High School "in violation of the recent law passed." The conservative Christian advocacy organization Texas Values publicized the the complaint, which does not identify the complaining parent. Texas Values Director of Government Relations Mary Elizabeth Castle said the parent's daughter told them about the situation. In the complaint, the parent said that they notified Austin High officials of the alleged violation on Jan. 15, Feb. 3 and Feb. 10. "The issue remained unresolved and my daughter told me that the male student continued to use the female restroom," the parent wrote.

From today’s Statesman: Attorney General Ken Paxton threatened Austin ISD with daily $5,000 fines if the district doesn't rectify an alleged violation of the bathroom bill. The complaint comes after Texas lawmakers in August passed Senate Bill 8, the Texas Women's Privacy Act, also called the "bathroom bill." In his Friday announcement, Paxton said he'd advised Austin ISD that the district would be fined daily if the alleged violations aren't rectified. But Paxton's office didn't say whether he had validated the parent's complaint and did not immediately respond to a request seeking clarity on whether he'd launched a formal investigation. "I will work tirelessly to hold Austin ISD accountable if it does not stop its unlawful, woke policy of allowing men to invade women's spaces," Paxton said in a statement.
