a excerpt of my writing, body text reads: Jeongguk wakes to a beautiful summer’s day. The sky is a sort of forever blue and the barley fields are singing madrigals and the trees are laughing-bright and the wind has all sorts of stories and Jeongguk has a golden apple clutched in his hand as he descends the hill to the village and makes his way to the house at the edge of the meadows to find every window thrown wide and the door propped open to the season and the sun. There is singing coming from the kitchen, the voice soft and sweet, all crystal and lilies and starlight, and the air smells of cinnamon and honey and fig and Jeongguk thinks that of all the things he’s done in his years of life, this might be the most important of them all. There is a sign beside him that reads, “Knock firmly please”. He knocks firmly. “Oh?” The singing stops and he mourns the loss of it but celebrates the appearance of the knight, flour on his hands and cheeks and a furrow in his brow as he turns a corner and comes face to face with Jeongguk. “How can I help you today?”
