A matter of personal opinion. I prefer Doom Bar π
But still a decent beer, imho.
But cask Doom Bar is OK! I hope the brewing continues elsewhere. It's currently the best selling cask beer in the UK, and there were many times in the past when it was the only cask offering in the pubs I visited.
BREAKING: Sharp's Brewery in Cornwall, maker of UK's best-selling Cask ale, Doom Bar, to close, 50 jobs lost. US-Canadian owner Molson Coors, say it's financially unsustainable. Meanwhile MC investing heavily in relaunch of Carling Black Label. Fate of Burton brewed bottled version unknown #BskyBeer
Four years have passed since Russia's full scale invasion of Ukraine. Russia was supposed to win in three days. Instead, Ukraine reinvented modern warfare, built a drone industry, and can destroy a thousand Russian soldiers in a day. Ukraine can win.

It's 17 years since I opened my Twitter account. I closed it just over a year ago. But it was good for the first 10 years or so, until Musk's takeover finished it for me. Things are much better here!
www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... Interesting that Keele isn't on the list.
I never met him, but his book 'Cask' is a standard reference for me. RIP.
That's even cheaper than here, where it's typically Β£4-Β£4.50 a pint. But don't you think it's nit what it used to be, now the brewing process has changed?
I'm well thanks, Roger, but getting fed up with the winter weather!
I enjoyed that one too, in the Captain Flinders pub next to Euston Station.
This is well worth reading.

Yes. I find it hard to believe that they are still using that platform.
I always knew he would, and I don't trust him.

We still get them, but not in great quantities.
Amnesia?
I do, but there has to be a middle way. It's too widely used to be banned outright.
The talk of X being banned in the UK is worrying. I've largely stopped using it, apart from accounts I manage for various groups, but many still use it (including UK Labour), and a ban would be a serious over reaction. I can't see it happening, but you never know these days.
Not really my point though. I agree with what you say about pubs, but the cost will still need to be transferred. So the big picture is still not a positive one. But anyway, cheers. My birthday is today, and I'll be visiting my local, the Horn and Trumpet in Sneyd Green, Stoke-on-Trent.
Mixed feelings about this, Roger. Obviously it's good for pubs if and when it happens, but the rates rise was for a reason, and the money will have to come from somewhere else. Looking at the big picture, it's just moving the problem somewhere else!
A very Happy New Year to you all! May you enjoy health and happiness.
