Such a great experience presenting at the 2025 NeuroBoston Symposium at Tufts University! ๐ So grateful for the opportunity and for all the great questions and conversations afterward ๐๐ง ๐บ #Tufts #NeuroBoston #StudyWomen #WomensBrainHealth #Menopause @sfn.org
Honored to be selected for a lightning talk at the NeuroBoston Symposium at Tufts University today!
Iโll be presenting on traumatic brain injury, white-matter integrity, and the roles of #Menopause timing and hormone therapy ๐ง ๐บ
Excited to share these findings!! ๐ #WomensBrainHealth #StudyWomen
Thrilled to be at #SfN25 this week! Sharing my research on TBI, white matter integrity, menopause, and hormone therapy ๐ง ๐บ Also very thankful to have been selected for the 2025 Trainee Professional Development Award supported by the @abfbrain.bsky.social! ๐๐
๐ฃ๐จ Excited to announce our new paper is out in Human Brain Mapping! ๐ง ๐
We used a data-driven MVPA approach to reveal whole-brain functional connectivity differences after mTBI and linked them to cognitive outcomes up to 12 months post-injury.

Really enjoyed the Pink Concussion: Sex, Parenting, and Life After Acquired Brain Injury symposium at the 15th World Congress on Brain Injury. Amazing speakers and insightful discussions on the impact of brain injury in women! #IBIA2025 @pinkconcussions.bsky.social
Excited to have presented my poster Sex and Age-Specific Factors in Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Recovery: The Role of Brain Network Modularity in Females at the 15th World Congress on Brain Injury in Montreal! Great discussions on womenโs brain health following TBI #IBIA2025 #womensbrainhealth
Attended Womenโs Health Research and Funding: Gaps and Opportunities at @broadinstitute.org. We must push grant agencies, stakeholders, and pharma to prioritize womenโs inclusion in research. Equitable studies benefit everyoneโletโs keep advocating, sharing, and driving change! #WomensHealthResearch
Please take two minutes to watch this excellent video that explains WHY SEX DIFFERENCES are critical to study...
This is why PINK Concussions has spent the last 12 years advocating for women to be included in Brain Injury research and why we will not give up advocating!

If this is the case, it would be heartbreakingโerasing progress and widening the gender data gap yet again. It would mark a huge step backward for science and women's health. #GenderDataGap #HealthResearch #HealthEquity #NIH

#EverydaySexismProject is a platform that has been amplifying voices and experiences of sexism, from street harassment to workplace discrimination, since 2012. By speaking out, we shine a light on injustices and create a collective voice that can't be ignored ๐ฃโ๐

Among nearly 35,000 biological scientists who authored their first paper in 2000, women were more likely than men to have stopped publishing after 5, 10 or 20 years. The size of this gender gap varies between disciplines.
Disappointing new study showing - once again - that women are leaving research careers at far higher levels than men

Hey 2025 ๐๐ผ
ChP volume at 2 weeks and 6 months in the left and right ChP from TRACK-TBI in mild TBI CT+, mild TBI CTโ, and orthopedic controls. Box plots demonstrating post hoc comparisons with higher ChP volume in the right and left hemisphere at 2 weeks in CT+ compared with CTโ and orthopedic controls. This relationship exists at 6 months for the left and right hemisphere for CT+ compared with CTโ but only for the right hemisphere when comparing CT+ to orthopedic controls. ChP, choroid plexus; CT, computed tomography; TBI, traumatic brain injury; TRACK-TBI, Transforming Research and Clinical Knowledge in Traumatic Brain Injury.
ChP from GMM in blue; ChP from original FreeSurfer mask in yellow. ChP, choroid plexus; GMM, Gaussian mixture modeling.
The choroid plexus (ChP), a small subcortical structure, is a neuroprotective barrier. Preclinical TBI models show increased inflammatory markers in the ChP. Our recent work shows ChP swelling in CT+ TBI patients, emphasizing the different pathologies of TBI. www.liebertpub.com/doi/10.1089/...
